ya, its still not a perfect comparison, but as good as you can get I guess.
I'd take the stigs pob over jeremy clarksons. He doesnt need to talk, just drive great cars all day
Then again jeremy seems to make good money, or at least get huge deals on cars since he is always driving the latest and greatest.
I wouldn't be surprised if he is loaned the cars from the manufacturers. It adds a lot of credit when the host of the best car show in the world "chose" their car over all the other ones out there.
ug... watching that makes me reaffirm why I really don't like Top Gear. What a biased bunch they are.
One comment he made about Jag managing to get so much more HP out of it's "tiny engine" compared the 5.7L engines in the other two was retarded, as it's the only supercharged one out of the bunch... of course it is going to get more power out of a smaller engine.
As usual, they ripped the American car to pieces. But comparing everything to the Jag S-Type R which is what...twice the price as the other two is lame. Not even competition for one another in the real world.
I suppose the Monaro/GTO is sort-of competition for the 300C, except for the whole fact that one is a Coupe (or a Cou-pay, as those Top Gear bastards say) and the other a Sedan. I think the 300C plays to the luxury crowd a little more though. The Jag is completely in another league of cars.

That's exactly why I dont like TG as well. I recall them bashing the S2000 in its head to head with the Boxster and Z4.
And IMO, the S2K MORE than held its own. They bash any non-Euro car, neglecting the fact that some of the worst quality cars are European; not American or Asian. I still sort of recall how bad their magazine bashed the 6G Accord V6; very uncalled for.
Top Gear is dumb but I still enjoy watching downloaded clips/episodes. I think that's why they're so successful.
Frankly, cars are dumb too. They're just machines. But I still enjoy looking at/learning about/everything about them.

Top Gear Porsche 997S video review...
http://www.sleepy-fish.com/sleepy/To...che_911_hi.wmv
This is shocking but... Clarkson actually LIKES a Porsche!!!!
this car is amazing... but I have to say I prefer F/I, esp after going for a ride in my friend's modded 600hp 996 Turbo recently.

Oooh...nice!!
Watched the video and I love the cinematography. Those shots of the car driving through water just make me want to go to the nearest beach and drive around on the sand.
And may I say, that Monaro looks awesome. Much better than our ghetto-ass GTO.
Thanks for the vids. I gotta remember to check out sleep-fish from time to time to get the videos.

I've watched my downloaded Carrera GT review at least ten times........They actually take the time to review the cars, so you all of what it can do, Car And Driver TV shows you maybe three or so mintues, some of Top Gear's segments are 15-20 minutes.

In England, it's a Vauxhall (also GM division). In mainland Europe, the company is known as Opel.
Pontiac just took the Monaro and slapped a Pontiac-esque front end on it for the GTO.

they bash the 300c cause its american, and act like the other 2 aren't. ok, make the case for the monero, but the jag is pretty damn american at this point.
they compared 3 cars in completely different classes....on sand....
i hate top gear, but its entertaining
Not a repost, I don't think...
That was pretty good. It was fucking hilarious when Jeremy was scrunched up against the wheel trying to drive. Top Gear is still the funniest of all the TV car programs.

That was a classic!Anyone see the one where he drove 800 miles on a tank of gas in the Audi 8 diesel?
