I saw the episode, it was funny how she put the show's host to shame by running the track and beating him without practice

I love how it's just you, an engine, and some wheels flying around the track. That's got to be a cool feeling.

Wow... faster than a Carrera GT on the test track. I'd love to get this car for track days. But will it ever be available in the US? Probably not.

I may never get one of the Ariel Atoms in my garage, but at least I can hear a S/C whine everyday.

IL peeps, let's get together and group buy one of these things. 20,000 GBP= ~ $37,630.

Hmm, this thing is my new dream track car. I just can't get over the high-rev of the k20 AND supercharger working at the same time. . I'm gonna need some help getting over this thing.

The Ariel Atom look like a Lotus Super 7 (or kit car look-alike) without the bodywork. Except, that the Arial Atom is mid-engine (I think).

I dont see how it can possibly be street legal, but DAMNN would that be a fun track car.

I like the bike analogy, its like a 4-wheeled sport bike. 500kg! awesome.

Seeing clarksons faces get flattened by the wind was the highlight of the video for me. Can anyone get a screen capture of that?

If I were going to go through the expense and trouble to get me one, I'd probably upgrade it with a CLS 6MT engine/tranny - S/C'd of course... Then see if I can get the 0-60 under 2 seconds.

umm.. sorry to say but I don't think that would be an upgrade. Sure there would be more power, but as you know, Civic Type-R drivetrain = full race. The engine and tranny of a CL is not even close to being suitable for "racing"....

I don't know how the engine would do under the stress of racing, but I have a feeling the tranny won't like the repeated abuse too much....
