....there's something ironic about Americans making fun of how the English speak English. Mastery of the language is nothing to mock, unless one has little mastery of it I guess.

*note the following is my own speculation *
In negotiations with Tiff, Tiff demanded more money. Probably using his racing background and driving skills nad leverage. So they decided to go on without Tiff and instead brought in the stig.
This would explain why in the early shows (of the new era top gear episodes) they really put down the stig, saying that he is just a dumb driver and that we dont need to see his face, etc. It would also explain TIff's comment in his Merc SLR review show, where he compliments the ceramic brakes and says "put this in your stig and smoke it" , in reference to the fact that jeremy was complaining about the ceramic brakes.

It isn't cancelled, I think they're revamping the show.
I think it already has been chopped to hell, there were some rumors somwhere of them putting together a american top gear though.. as in american hosts top gear style. Probably so bad it will make baby jesus cry.

The trouble is he didn't know anything about aerodynamics." They also did the same with Clarkson's review of the Porshce Cayenne. The part where he excoriated Porsche for designing a butt ugly vehicle is completely absent when this piece is aired on the Discovery channel. I wish they wouldn't worry about offending their viewers sensibilities (or those of their advertisers) and leave the criticism intact.
