They did, I think it was second to the Enzo.

When it was built, they said it'd be able to beat 7:30 around the ring. Insider info has it that their best time is just a little less then a minute slower then that.

Let's put it this way. The car is going to be a bitchin GT car, but it won't be the "super car" it was supposed to be. It'll still go like fucking lightning though

Why don't they test the cars with the same conditions on that show? Sometimes they test cars around the track in the rain which seems highly unfair to me. They should also do perhaps 5 laps around the track and take the average of the 5 laps or the best time, etc. Seems like too much error is involved on a single lap course.

A lot of those cars are borrowed
I still dont see why they never tested the Mclaren...I am guessing they were afraid of
crashing it if they pushed it too hard like the time they clipped the tires driving that ferrari.

The show wasn't around when the Mclaren came out. Remember Tiff ended up doing it for his old show.

We only list road-going cars, so the F1 car (0.59.0), Aston Martin DBR9 (1.08.6) and Sea Harrier (0.31.2) are not on the board.

It's actually tacky and sexy at the same time. I can't figure it out.

Why did they test the Aston Martin DBR9 (not a Maserati as I stated) and said you can't buy one, but you can buy a DBRS9 that only 50 or so hp different than the R version? Why didn't they just test the S then?

Don't get me wrong, I love Top Gear and the power lap times. I'm just saying that they may not be entirely indicitive of a car's ability around a proper track.

the top gear course isn't really a tight track
That said, I think it's a pretty fair track, sure some will have an advantage, but it's got a little bit of a lot

Why does anyone pay attention to their numbers? they don't test the cars scientifically. Look at the data you are presented...
1/2 of the times up there are when it was raining or the track was totally wet...
As such the numbers do not represent anything in terms of a comparison... you have wet and dry track times mixed together.

I would at least like to be consistent as far as the dryness of the track is concerned. If they are not, then they shouldnt put up the comparision on the wall like they always do.

Top Gear had initially attempted to have the track wet all the time, independent of the weather, however their sprinkler system mechanics were only able to place "a few strategic puddles" so they abandoned the idea. When they do race a car in the wet, the make it a point to put a (W) by the time and tell the view that it should be around 3-4 seconds faster in the dry. So you really can't fault them for having to run in the wet, since it rains almost everyday in England (or so I've heard).
