The car is pretty jammed...

- 2 dogs (30lbs combined)
- PS4
- Laptop
- Easy 50lbs of blankets/pillows
- Cooler with some food/booze
- Ratchet set
- Extra fluids for the car
- Clothes/boots/shoes/jackets
- Pair of J37A2 heads to top it off..

Overall the car has been a tank as expected, hitting around 17mpg so far with cruise control set to 135km/h (85mph). Gas was getting pricey but is finally dropping down under a dollar in Calgary ($0.90/L) but that's gonna be short lived since BC is the next stop.

The real MVP though, is the RL. Just hit 300k (180k miles) before the cruise started & despite pretty much everyone telling me to get rid of it, I made sure it was making the trek. My brother has been getting some solid 1 on 1 time with it & he loves it. Such a low key presence on the road..

Haven't been keeping track but when I'm near empty, the RL still has around 1/4 tank left. Easily 20+ mpg.

I'm so curious what dropping to 65mph would do to your mpg.

Ain't nobody got time for that..

Touched down in BC, officially starting the home stretch. The roads from Lake Louise to Kelowna are just ridiculous. Unfortunately, it was all wet/sketch but there's gonna be some epic summer rips..

Came into the office early this morning, felt cute
Pulled a J and did some powerslides in the parking lot at work
Even zoomed past our security rent-a-cops going 75 in a 15

Then roared through the parking structure
Alarmed the shit out of everyone walking in
Didn't need coffee this morning

funny you mention my driving though...
drizzle this morning...
I took the S2000...
getting off the off ramp for work exit was damp and I had an F150
coming up on my ass. Took the turn pretty fast and got the rear end
to wiggle like it's boutta make you shit your pants...kept it under control.
I look back and the truck goes sideways. He kept it together though...I was impressed.
Dumbass...
pull into the yard and he follows me in. It was one of the lineman.

Touched down in BC just over a week ago & the V has had some quality down time. I've taken it out a few times to do some shakedowns on these backroads & I'm starting to notice a groan/loud hum from the rear of the car, kind of a hollow groan if that makes sense. Usually notice it at low speeds but its intermittent & only lasts a few seconds. Figure it's about time for a diff fluid change since I bet it's never been done.

Diff fluid is #1 on my to do list but I have a weird feeling that noise may be fuel pump related. The car has randomly been finicky again at low speeds & it's starting to drive me nuts. I have to fix that wideband harness to get some logs but all I can do is brainstorm since all my tools are still on the way in the U-haul..

Oh and I definitely need some rear subframe bushings, the float is real on tight turns...

I did diff fluid...it's easy.
good insurance too...humming sounds like it would be that.
fuel pump issue?
I know Maj may have had something like that but he's not running
nearly the same power as you as he pulls half the coil packs to get
better fuel economy.

Keep us posted and happy you got there safely!

This is 100% permanent. I have a job lined up for the new year so we're taking advantage of some down time at my moms to get adjusted. We're on the coast which is a ferry ride from Vancouver. Long term, we want to end up in the Kelwona area.

Christmas came a bit early this year.

Picked up a Mamo ported TB since I've been getting pretty annoyed with low speed/throttle tip in. Did a TB relearn & went for a bit of a drive to check the results. Such a great feeling having instant throttle response lol. Need to install my wideband to make sure everything is good on the tune side of things but after the first drive, it was definitely a solid mod.

Also after almost 3 months, I finally got my hands on my WeaponX sway bars. After all the different reviews I've read about these, I'm beyond excited to get these on & get the car dialed in to tear up these unbelievable roads in BC.

2020 should be a fun.. 👀

Sweet! Surprised I didn't see this update sooner.
I love BC, even the Methy / Heroin-y / PCP parts
Most of my peoples in BC are in the Richmond, West Van City area
Kelowna would be so tits.. footsteps of Banff / Jasper
Plus a fraction of the price of Van City

Shit, I remember median price of homes in Vancouver being like 350k
Condos and townhomes were in the low 200s.
Fucking insane now

And back then it was like oh wow eh
It's kind of expensive out here yeah
let's go to timmys for a double double and choke on some timbits
Right on, then watch the canucks whoop them hosers
Suck down some labatt blues and poutine eh

I always sniff out deals & end up flipping them to offset the cost of buying parts. Except for the sway bars, those bitches were full price but chances are they may never have another group buy again, especially with the new wave of budget V owners that only want to go in a straight line.

It really is insane. My sister owns a condo up teh Sea to sky highway in Squamish & paid over 500k for it. When we went to Kelowna during the summer, we looked at some houses probably 15-20 minutes outside of Kelowna in the bush that were 2500+ sq/ft, 2 car garage on just under an acre of property & had a view of the lake for the low 400's. To top it off the drive into Kelowna is a tight 2 lane road that could kill you if you disrespected it, love at first sight..

Yea right, they're $425 off the site. I got this off ctsvowners.com "used" for $300, doesn't even look like it was touched previously.

Around here, straight roads are a thing of the past & with everything being constantly wet, it's impossible to ever go WOT. Other day I went to pass a sweet old lady impeding traffic & barely got into boost before the back end slid out. Wife = terrified, I played it off like it was another day at the office

ive thought many times about moving from vancity to Kelowna, osoyoos, penticton etc etc, heck even out of province to AB. Its just hard to give up your home city and everything it really does offer.

but as prices go higher each year, i might have to make a move to get ahead ...just as a reference, 25+ old homes which are not habitable sell for 800+ ....yuck

hope to see you on the roads one day teh CL

Been about a week with the mamo TB & the difference is noticeable to say the least. It really "woke up" the car but I still feel there could be another level of refinement to the driveability which has been haunting me since she's been back on the road. I've always wondered why so many V's go for sale after a build is done & I bet it has more to do with the driveability more than anything. Doesn't help that the majority of tuners just tune the MAF & leave dynamic airflow disabled.

Shane Hinds worked with me to get it where I wanted it but since it's only MAF tuned, it never got there. He mentioned that cammed LS cars never behave 100% stock & might get close to 90% manners from a stock cam. I brought up doing a blended airflow model (aka dynamic airflow/MAF) but he wasn't convinced it would do anything. I just let it be & dealt with it which always left a bad taste in my mouth since I came across a post from GP Tuning/LT1Z mentioning that a blended airflow model does wonders for driveability with his cams. Most driveability issues are tune related & Justin White has mentioned more than once that MAF only tunes are bush league.

With all that said, except for the refinement in low rpm driveability, there's no issues with how the car runs & I still drive it every day & even across the country..

Anyways, I reached out to Shane about the mamo TB & the tune could use some tweaking for the extra airflow. It would be another $100 for a retune & I get he needs to get paid for his time but it kinda rubbed me the wrong way to be honest. Decided to hold onto the $100 & with the help of some guys on ctsvowners.com/YouTube, I'm going the DIY route.

Now, as terrifying as this is, I'm not going hero mode here & just doing little by little. I've spent the last few days dialing in the MAF even more & cleaning up some rich areas. After that I'm going to massage the dynamic airflow & go from there. It's pretty straight forward right now, just takes a lot of driving but there's no complaints with that.

Just touched down in Kelowna again to look for some rental properties & even though the RL would of been the safe route, the V made the trek. BC has some unbelievable scenery & also some roads that really pucker your butthole up when the weather turns for the worst.. ..

That fog was THICC..
