Brakes now look pretty weak...

I hate to see the dynamics hurt by suck large wheels and although I am not a big proponent of BBKs for just the street, those rotors now look almost as bad as drums stuck under there!

Those brakes do look really weak.

The rest of the car looks pretty damn sweet.

WOW, love this car, I think I would even rather have it than a Carrera. If I only lived in a warm climate and had another $30G's to spend on a car...

I've been debating that in my head as well - and to tell you the truth, I'm not so sure I would consider it a "real porsche".

Great car tho. Great bang for the buck imo. I considered buying one, but now I'm leaning towards a Cayenne or an X5.

I havent had the opportunity to drive one but from everything Ive read about it - it appears to kick ass. I think its a terrific car, its like a mini-911.

BUT.. I think these huge ass rims would hinder its performance.

i think its need bigger brakes to go with the big rims...it doesnt look right and those small breaks make it look weak too.

I'm not saying it shouldn't be. I'm asking. If you ask me, i'm impressed with the boxter. I'm asking the porsche enthusiasts on the board what they think.

I wouldn't consider the Cayman a great-bang-for-the-buck, maybe for a Porsche. You can get a Z06 for about the same price as a Cayman that has a few options.

It is totally not a great bang-for-the-buck. Have you tried to build/spec one out on the website? After a couple of options, you may as well consider a 911.

I got your point entirely. I was just confirming that it's a valid contender. I'm quite the Porschephile.

Yeah, I went on Carsdirect.com and built a fully loaded Cayman S and it came out to over $110K. With a few key options it was around $70K. There's a lot of cool options like leather, wood, or carbon fiber covered everything, carbon ceramic brakes (which is an $8K option by itself), etc. but damn it all adds quickly.

For a good performing coupe, the Cayman prices itself out of my range quickly. For that amount, I may as well consider an M3 or a Corvette and save the rest...

Care to explain why some wouldn't consider the Boxter or the Cayman a real Porsche? I'm not being argumentative, I really would like to know.
