Taking Delivery?
Taking Delivery?
I decided to go ahead with my dealer on the Accord EX sedan, 5MT
. Pricing worked out as follows:
Car: 20669
Tax: 3%
Registration: $62
Doc Fee: $400 (they wouldn't back down on this at all)
Total: $21750 off the lot
Sticker: $22660
Anyway, I take delivery on the car tomorrow evening around 4:30pm. Having never purchased a new car I'm wondering what I should look for? Are there certain things I should check before accepting the car? I've already driven it and done a prelim look over while it was still all wrapped up in plastic. I will drive it again before I sign any papers.
Any tips or links would be appreciated!

Congrats on the new car!
I would make sure all the accessories you ordered are there, it's so easy to miss because a new car looks so good and you just want to get out and drive it. That includes any floor mats, splash guards (make sure installed firmly), stuff like that. I wouldn't worry about it being too clean or not (it'll get dirty anyway and better to do it yourself), unless there's glue or adhesive left on the car. Have a look in the trunk and make sure everything's there. Try all the power accessories, lights, etc.
I'm sure there's other things I've missed...

You're going to want to make sure they attach a big dealership decal to the back of the car. The car just looks like shit without one. Also, rust-proofing. Those Hondas will rust right through you know.
I'd say pick up all the floor mats and look under them. Mine had a dirt spot in the carpet under the mat that they got out. Make sure you get two keys, two fobs, and a valet key. These are minor things that are easily forgotten in the midst of new car euphoria or a three day cocaine bender, both of which afflicted me when I took delivery.
