Well, if it's any consolation...many state that they should have given it the oomph that the S2000 comes with stock. Although I always enjoyed pushing the limits with it...it never really felt like it was planting me in my seat, was loud and respectable acceleration, but not SUPER fast either. I guess it's all relative then...

Keep in mind that S2K is like $10k more expensive than 86.. haha

So, it's about right in the stock form.

This car is more like in the middle ground of Miata and S2K. That was the sole purpose of this car's development.

Well, my comment was a knock on the S2000, not praise. I'm saying that once you get used to something, it doesn't feel fast anymore anyway. Guarantee you put me in your 86 right after driving my 1990 civic dx hatch 4 speed manual...I would have thought I was flying a spaceship!

You are right.

But yeah, I've driven a modified 86 before. It was still N/A but with some substantial engine mods. It's a different animal.

I don't think you can really compare the FA20 to the F20/22. One engine feels and sounds like a tractor motor, the other is an F20/22

<<<@!1!@>>>
I was even holding the tea pot, but failed

<<<@!2!@>>>

All I want is to open up the car J. and no drone.
I saw what the TL turned into with exhaust and intake, it's addicting. I want that same feeling again.
I am not talking about speed.
I am talking about engine running freely. You know what I am talking about.
That RPM needs to play so faster and freely.

Sound? Well, it's way to quiet from outside. People seem to get that rumle from Perrin and nice deep tone. Which is exactly what I want but wanted to step away from Perrin because of being way too quiet.

Morgan made me search more about Nameless exhaust
Now it's worse, IDK what to get.

Listen to this J.
The feeling that I am talking about. My car doesn't have this
Bitch sounds like s2k

<<<@!3!@>>>

Oh man, I said the exact thing couple days ago while driving dads Lexus.
Ok not fun as BRZ of course but that thing goes
BRZ is quick responsive ok but that awd and v6 feels soooo planted and so much power at the same time.
Felt weird but was good.

<<<@!4!@>>>

Design of both interior and exterior just makes this car perfect for me. All these features and etc just makes me pass miata s2k or any other.

<<<@!5!@>>>

You sir, come here.
Ok you got me on Nameless but not replacing the middle pipe is ugly
For 12hp, I need the front pipe and rear axleback =@1100
And I will still have that weird shape middle pipe there.
Plus I don't know if that Nameless front pipe would give drone with axleback but I don't think so.
New design front pipe is pretty good they say.

But, since Perrin catback gives 5-6HP, and replaces the mid pipe.
How good would it be to add Nameless front pipe to that Perrin catback!

That put me in doubt again
Because I don't want the middle stock pipe.
Keeping stock pipe for freeing up flow doesn't really sounds good to me.

Nameless is more smart to go with but I still don't know.

J. here, if you don't know the diagram.

<<<@!6!@>>>

Mustang
Forget that car, had enough fun with it

Why didn't this thing quote the old posts

I love how pipe connects to muffle from mid section on Perrin

And this is nameless Jeremy

Connects to stock midpipe, because after market midpipe didn't give any extra power.
Does just replacing the axleback (muffler) with nameless gives more power?
Nope

You need the front pipe for 12hp
Which replaces the overpipe and front pipe at the same time.

BUT!!!! Lighter than Perrin

I have my header. Just haven't put it on

I am going to sound deaden the interior a bit. It's a bit hard to have a conversation with passengers as is (high-flow cat FP, catback) and a header is going to make it loud as fug

Finally it's here. Nice!!
Powder coated yet?

As I know too... it get's crazy loud haha
Don't end up getting q300 catback

There's a reason Nameless didn't have the midpipe out when they first came to market. Nameless axleback + over/front pipe = perfection.

Toss in the Nameless or PTuning header if you want a quality header. JDL is nice too.

That's what I will be going with I guess.
Many people support Nameless, I just can't say no.
And no one around me has it as far as I know.
They have Perrin, Greedy, Tomei, but that's as far as I know

That new Greedy catback, sounds pretty bad with some headers and front pipes.
I took it off the list.
Can't take the extra flow I guess.
Quality is quality.

First time I heard PTuning, looking into that now.
I was going to go with OFH UEL header like Costco did.
Well, that was my plan if I swap the header one day.

Meko...
I think it's time you consider upgrading to a full on DSLR.

Reason being, your point and shoot takes good video and in sunlight, exceptional images, but you really need something with shutter priority to play with it for those evening/night shots you like to take...that, with a tripod would send your pictures out of this world.

That, through lightroom...you'll be a magician!

If you do get a wing, and are considering tracking it, I'd get a splitter too to balance the aero front/rear.

As far as what wings look good, a couple of local guys have the Voltex 1S... looks great! Sard LSR is a nice and subtle choice.

I knew you were going to bring this up. I am starting to care about quality or how shots come out at night.
Pictures looks good but quality isn't great of course.

You are going to say, D7100 now and I will say, daaayum too much green.
Oh well, I will upgrade one day but that day will be when I have some free time haha

<<<@!2!@>>>

I think I know what splitter you are talking about I like it.
Does wing really makes a noticable difference on track?

Sard is the only one I want. I don't know where to get it from or how much but it will be mine one day
Carbon would match nicely with my black BRZ too. Nothing crazy looking or nothing too simple.

This car has it too...

Proper front splitter and GT wing combo makes a huge difference at the track.

However, I'd suggest you get the rear diffuser instead of a wing. The wing will create more drag than it's worth at stock power levels. The factory muffler was a "diffuser" in a way, in that it helped block the air from entering the void between the rear axle and the bumper. Most of the exhausts on the market open up that area, and that creates lift.

*FT-86 SF - Street Performance Front Splitter [ft86-splitter] - $375.99 : FT-86 SpeedFactory, Your exclusive source for FR-S / BRZ / GT-86 parts!

+

*FT-86 SF - Race Upgrade for FT86SF Splitter [ft86-raceupgrd-splitter] - $149.99 : FT-86 SpeedFactory, Your exclusive source for FR-S / BRZ / GT-86 parts!

+

Driveway Labs Rear Diffuser - T1 [drivelabsdif-al-blk] - $599.99 : FT-86 SpeedFactory, Your exclusive source for FR-S / BRZ / GT-86 parts!

They say you can run the front splitter without the stays, but that will pull down on the bumper and eventually cause shit fitment - that is, if your car didn't come with shit fitment from the factory.

Now I understand how a person can stand on that front splitter. There is totally a different kit just for installing it

Morgan, the diffuser you have is Drivewaylabs? Never thought of the rear muffles as in that way. Rear diffuser is a must with an aftermarket muffler than.
Especially with Nameless haha

Our track people needs these ASAP

I am getting there too. With all these new subaru people around me, impossible to not track the car.
Winter will be a modding season for me... again

And I think I am sold on that front/over pipe + muffler from Nameless

Yep, I have the DWL diffuser. I love it, and I actually felt a difference. The rear end feels way more stable at speed and the car no longer shimmies on the highway.

"car no longer shimmies on the highway"
I wasn't used to that the first months I had the car.
Driving under rain at highspeeds and changing lanes fast didn't felt good.
Car is way too light man hahaha

I feel like I should lower and upgrade my rims before all those boeing 747 stuff.
Morgan has a perfect look from sides and rear... I mean his car.......

Don't wait for too much powah JS, just get it, better handling on corners and faster

I wouldn't suggest you spend that kinda money on your first DSLR. Start off small and work your way up. For about $300 you can get something good, Nikon or Canon with the kit 18-55MM lens. You'll thank me later. With a 50MM prime lens for $100 and a tripod...you'll be incredible.

Trust me.
Ask Austin for recommendations...
I had the Canon 30D for a couple years...served me well. Talk to Ebelp John about selling you his D90...he's gone full frame and now that he's splurging on full frame lenses I bet it won't be long before he lets go of his crop sensor camera (D90, still a VERY respectable camera). Maybe he'll even include a good lens to get you going.

Thinking of getting the Type 2 diffuser myself. The Type 1 is nice, it's just a little loud for me. Only thing is I can't find any airflow/testing results done on the Type 2. I'm sure it works, but the T1 is way more popular and thus has more feedback.

If you get the type 2, get it with the extended strakes. The standard strakes look weird.

I actually prefer them! In profile view, you can hardly tell they're there. Though yes, T2 with T1 strakes is a nice alternative too.

In case people ask, this is the Type 2:

I met up with Carl (maker of the diffuser) to buy the type 2 originally. When we put it on the car, I didn't like it. The type 1 is awesome

I am not quoting because doesn't work

Jeremy,
D90 it is then. I'll text John about it... a reason to visit him

T2 strikes are round
T1 strikes are sharp... right?
And T2 is smaller than T1 or same size? That's what it looks like

T2 if small, with T1 strikes is what I want then.

My problem with the Type 2 is I'm not sure how useful it really is. It does seal off the opening left when you swap exhausts, but it doesn't stick out far enough from the bumper to really route air. I wish they did the CFD analysis.

Heh, that word has anal in it.

I know, at work I call them Anal ysts.
Are you guys really that concerned with downforce and all that sh*t. I think they kill the clean look and for something that you might benefit from at the track, or like 1% of street driving. Fk that.
