If he really knew how to race, he could have saved. Especially when he came out of the first powerslide. what a shame.

Totally could have saved it... he was just too afraid to keep his foot in it.

He overcorrected and let off the gas. If he had just stayed on the gas, he could have made it.

IMO, we have too many people here that play GT3 and not doing the real thing while having an opinion.

Now seriously, you don't know the situation so you can't say he could have driven out of that. It is easier to say that do!!!

exactly, and even the best drivers out there have a few crashes/big mistakes under their belts. You don't learn w/o fucking up a few times.

Well stated!! I'd bet good money that a skilled drifter could have saved it.

Yes well in Gran Turismo I would have floored it and driven out of it, but in real life I would have probably done the same thing... "OH my baby!" *both feet in*

ahaehahe funny shit.....his line was all fucked up. It was obviously intented to drift and he took the wrong line......mistakes suck.

Interesting....i wonder if the addition of the LSD in the front contributed to the front tires biting all of a sudden. Perhaps the same wouldn't have occured in the WRX?

Depending on what gear he was in and what part of the RPM range as well......the save COULD'VE been possible. WIth the tires spinning and the engine at redline he might've had to shift and letting off the gas power was cut and then the wheels get grip causing the accident. Seems he used the speed of the car down the straight to try the manuver as opposed to braking hard, downshifting and purposely throwing out the back end.

Are we sure he didn't get on the gas and ended up with oversteer?? At that speed a little gas can cause you to spin. We are not talking about parking lot 30 MPH spins. He was easily 60+ which a little too much throttle can do what was shown in the video.

Point being, we don't know what occured in the car and it is far too easy to call it from the bench than to be in the game.

Heck, some people being critical haven't even been to a track. What makes them think they know how to handle a situation like that.

You bunch of bench racers. :P

He could be cruising at 65mph on the FWY, fell asleep and hit the center divider. How are you going to save that?

When do you mean get on the gas for oversteer? When he loses control of the car? If so:

yea but he was spinning and rear end was out.......electronics aren't going to throw power to the front.....that would cause mad understeer. If you look his wheels are turned right to swing the rear around so he could drift out....then it seems like as the car continues to drift he either lifts off the throttle and/or tries to correct by turning his steering left and then he loses complete control.

fyi....dont think anybody is saying they are ready to be first seat for Subaru in the WRC....just trying to relate as much as possible and figure out what happened....
