The new Legacy is very nice indeed (though may not be as well equipped as the TSX).

That's a bit strong, especially on a TSX site. It all depends on what's important to you. To most TSX owners the HP numbers were not at the top of the list.

I think is priced just about right. it MSRPS for 28k and has 250hp/250lb/ft and AWD.. a similarly speced s4 a few years ago was 10-15k more. And while i think the body style is nice it doesnt look as sharp and distinctive as the TSX does.

Still, I wouldn't compare a Twin Turbo V6 S4 with a boxer Subie, althouhg the numbers are nice for the Subie...

Moving this to Car & Bike talk as the main focus is not on the TSX.

I'll take an STi, one of the most fun cars I've ever driven.

But its all apples and oranges. I love the TSX too.

Isn't the base right under $26k?

I don't think it's high at all.

iamhomin, who's also impressed by the new legacy.

Does anyone know how fast the legacy is? It weighs about the same as the TSX (1450kg vs 1465kg) and with 250hp on tap it should be quick. There's also about a 10-15% HP penalty by going AWD but that should be cancelled out by the extra grip it has off the line.

Really, the only reason to buy this car is if you want the speed. Build quality is questionable and although the styling is much improved over the last model it's still not as good as the TSX. Material quality (especially plastics) on Subaru's is also not up to Acura levels.

It is competition for the TSX but it's not a winner in my books.

That's brutal. I would take a TL over the Legacy in a heartbeat.

0-60 mph in 5.2 sec is ringing in my head for some reason. I see a lot of Legacy ads in magazines I read... definitely in Newsweek.

It's a pretty good car when I test drove it a while back...

The money your paying for a GT is definitely going all into the engineering, cuz the interior material hasn't been improved much, if at all. They still use too much hard plastic on this thing to move up in the market.

But with AWD, and that 250/250 rating, it's a pretty good value if nothing at all.

Junkster, whose taking a break from studying for an hour

The 2005 Legacy GT Sedan is faster in 1/4 mile acceleration (14.44 sec) than the Porsche Boxster (14.8 sec).

The 2005 Legacy GT Sedan is the 2003-2004 Car of the Year Japan.

Say what you want about the TSX but leave Smitty out of this.

I guess everyone is entitled to their opinion but think the hood scoops on scoobies always has looked a little weird.

I am bringing out a lot of hostility towards NJ these days

Just why would you come onto a TSX board, named yourself blk tsx, then say it looks like ass? You know the reaction you'll get. It doesn't make sense to me.

note to self: Stop feeding the trolls, jcg!

sinking... sinking....

You've used this site as a resource (presumably) for a couple months... why go down in this downward spiral of being an ass?

Dude. You're reaching here big time. First of all, is this even English? Second, the SUBARU is not as refined as the TSX.

The TSX IS an Accord but it's tanglibly different. The Subaru is a freaking Subaru. No getting away from that one.
