Rick, there is a LOT more available. I just don't want to "junk" up the look of the car. I've always wanted the car to look aggressive, but classy. Hopefully I've achieved that....
Steve,
You definitely have to get a really nice set of photos shot once she's out of the winter hibernation!
I love you Steven...
and the real cf badging looks fuckin great
but if you put that vinyl c(wrapped) alternator cover on the car I'm going to politely ask Anil to pour airplane grade paint stripper on your car before Winter is over.
the cover, fine, although badges on badges on badges might be going too far.
Anyway, I hope all is well for you, my friend. You've been away quite a bit lately...
Please do not out those badges or that cover on your car. The rest of the carbon work you have put on that car is a work of art but those pieces full detract from the quality of everything. Say no to hydro dip. It isn't real carbon.
The interior is as good as any European Exotic on the market..
Sorry but they still have a long way to go.
My neighbor bought a 2017 Vette and since I was looking for another sports car, I dropped into the dealer last summer. As good as the car is, the cheap interior turned me off.
I didn't catch that he posted that...
No offense and I had a Cadillac which is a cut above in terms of GM interiors but to compare it to the craftsmanship that goes into Italian and other exotics is pretty laughable.
What that should read is the interior is oodles better than a 1995 Corvette interior.
Well for the money, the performance is hard to beat. The interior though does not even come close to my 2015 911 Carrera 4 GTS.
But it takes more than that to sell me on a car. I'm not at the track trying to win, so if a car is faster or slower its kind of unimportant to me. I look at the overall package; styling (subjective), build quality, choice of materials, etc.
Now before I get bashed by the OP, I subscribed to Vette Vues long before he was thinking of one. I prefer my '63 to '67 series and my '70 with the LT1. Not quality cars, but I loved them.

I guess its all a matter of expectations.
As someone who had a C6Z, the C7's interior might as well be like your Porsche's in comparison.
Okay sure, it's not top of the line in the industry. But compared to the past generations, Chevy made real, impressive strides to have an interior that at least was respectable for a change.
As long as you think so, you just saved yourself a bunch of money. I've sat in both recently.
@Tech I wonder if the trim level mattered. Say the base level 1LT/1LZ vs 3LT/3LZ which I think comes with better leather (Napa), alcantara roof/areas, and I think the dash can also be optioned to be carbon fiber?
I've read both....that C7 is GREAT interior....and people also still dog on the C7 interior.....maybe just a matter of relative perception....
^^^ People will always bag on the C7 interior...it's been a downfall of Corvette for many generations.
I don't think Porsche has Carbon Fiber seats like my Carbon Fiber Edition!!! (...or Ferrari or Lamborghini).
True. I think when comparing to the C5/6, it definitely is a world's improvement. Which you do have to give credit where it's due.
Not to mention where else can you get a 650hp supercar-level performance (or the very respectable stingray/GS 450hp) vehicle for the price you can get C7s at these days? All about incredible value.
I've been in a rental Camaro SS with the LT1 motor (shared with the base vette) a few times and my eyes/brain was getting too much G-forces to care about the interior when I mashed the gas pedal....a C7 is definitely on list of potential next car to upgrade into......

I didn't buy my Z06 for the interior quality to begin with (all I wanted was Nav/HUD), same reason I wouldn't buy a C7 so I couldn't care less. I at least acknowledge the improvement they made.
Yes, I acknowledged that. It was the comment that it was still cheap though, is unfair.
Actually, a Porsche is not a European Exotic or an exotic at all. They fall right in with a BMW or MB. A Ferrari or Lamborghini would be an exotic. Same for a McLaren although British.
I've worked on quite a few cars and if you have an eye, you notice things. The micro-switch I had to install in my friend's 997 door (it is what drops the side window 10 mm when opening the door), I expected a simple job. Take off the door trim panel, slice an opening in the plastic vapor barrier and replace the swich. Holy crap, this thing is well put together. They had a heavy metal trim panel the size of the door held in place with Torx screws. That was a first.
And these differences are obvious when comparing an Accord to an equally priced American car. You have to wonder why GM, and others needed a buyout some years ago. Either compete or get out of the kitchen!
Actually, the 1999 Ferrari 550 Maranello I was looking at had Carbon Fiber seats just prior to my recent purchase of the GTS. They had those seats 20 years ago.
You should see pics of that car. I must have a brother in NJ. It looks like he used a Q-Tip to clean the engine. I love that level of "passion".
Carbon Fiber is not something I'd be looking at. Just as the leather on the back of my seats or the carbon fiber on the dash and door trim panels (does nothing for performance). Nice but not something I would go for. But then where could I get a 2015 with only 101 miles on it after 3 years. I snapped it up at a cost.
I mean, CF really started as a reasonably strong material that could shave pounds...
I think a lot of the early uses for it actually painted it until someone realized it looks cool.
Now most people buy it for looks.
Although with the amount of CF that Steven has put on the car I'm pretty sure he's down 1000 el bees over a stock
Vette
It is a little early for April fools but really hoping that is what those parts are. Not trying to be mean but you have set a high standard for that car with the quality real carbon parts you have bought for it alreaady Steven.
I don't think you two could be anymore complete opposites in these photos. He has hair on top of his head and nothing on the sides, while you have hair on the sides and nothing up top. He has a goatee and you have a mustache. Then there's the obvious... He likes to wear white and you like to wear black.
