Time for a SC/Headers/Exhaust ![Yum](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/yum.gif)

agreed...truth to be told, I have been pushing the wheels and lowering the car agenda harder than exhaust/SC with Steven...
I think some ADV1 wheels and lowered another inch will set the car offffff in a major way

Alright boys,
You'll all be happy to know that I leave Wednesday morning for Bowling Green, Kentucky. The National Corvette Museum has their annual Bash each year there.
Corsa will be there. I am now seriously considering an exhaust for the Stingray.
I'm not sure if I told you this, but I have Carbon Fiber paddle shifters on the way for the Corvette. They should be here in a week or two.

I retract my earlier statement SB. Don't do the exhaust. ![hide](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/hide.gif)
If you're actually considering what Anil mentioned, do that. Screw the exhaust and get a set of nice wheels and coils and enjoy it. I mean hell, you've already got the performance exhaust on yours, right?

Steven, I know the optional factory exhaust has a valve in there to make it quieter, how would the aftermarket exhaust work with that? Does it have a similar valve you can control with your factory buttons/settings? OOOOrrrrr did you mean you are planning on getting headers

Anil, I've talked to 2 Corvette vendors today about an exhaust. You DO lose the Dual Mode Exhaust functionality with the Corsa exhaust. But I leave it wide open all the time anyway. So that is no factor to me. Plus, the car already sounds fantastic!
However, I've found out that the exhaust MAY give me 20-25 more horsepower. $2,000 seems like a LOT of money for more growl.
Headers are the way to go. They give you about 45-50 more horsepower! But, you need to re-tune the car after your install headers.
Now, I doubt anyone at the Corvette Bash will be changing out headers while you wait at this show (like the exhaust guys will be doing). I'll see what's available there at the show.

If you like how it sounds, and it feels fast enough, and you have no check engine lights...I'd keep it as is, Steven. Unless you're bored...
but now you're talking tune...if piggy back, probably fine, but if messes with ecu might void warranty. I don't know...just doesn't seem like it's your bag...

Steven, yes, you do keep the exhaust open NOW...but if the corsa is too loud for your liking, you wont have the option to "close" the valve...
For the headers, yeah, a tune/defoulers will be required since (am assuming) they will be replacing factory cats...again am sure they will sound awesome but not sure if it will be worth your while since your car sounds amazing from the factory
While you are down there, look at some wheels and lowering options...I am sure those 2 mods will be the easier to accomplish without messing with any warranty/etc and will make the car look and drive better...
...and if you do look for lowering options, make sure you can retain the factory mag ride components so you can still toggle between the race/track/sport settings on the stock dampers

Steven,
Has your car been treating you? The red color looks fantastic. Are you still in love it with as much as day 1?![Smile](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
How has reliability and maintenance been so far on your C7?
I've been seriously contemplating a 996tt/997tt and almost pulled the trigger on a 03 996tt, but reliability and maintenance issues scare the heck out of me. Seems like every year something goes wrong... I was told to budget $2-4k yearly for maintenance/repairs.![ugh](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/ugh.gif)
Would you recommend the C7? What has been your yearly costs so far in terms of maintenance/repairs, mods excluded?
My local dealership has an automatic to test drive, but my nod is towards the manual.
Thoughts?

^^^ Doc,
Go for the C7-they're SO outstanding! Maintenance is down to a fine science. You will NOT regret it.
I'm still LOVING my C7-it's like an event every time I get to drive it.

I caved.....
Alright guys,
After much consideration, I've pulled the trigger on this (double click the picture to see the video).....
![](http://i1278.photobucket.com/albums/y512/stevenbell1957/2014%20C7%20Corvette/th_61B88DCE-5A3E-47BE-8E6E-54554D468F16_zpsb0yodlhb.mp4)
I don't want to get a tune for the car, so headers are more trouble than they're worth. Plus, it COMPLETELY VOIDS the warranty on the car.
So Corsa installed a brand new Corsa Extreme exhaust with their X-pipe and shiny chrome tips.
I'm not going for wheels-this exhaust is too expensive. The Corsa guys LOVED the wheels too, so that's why they installed the chrome tips.
I hope you enjoy the video with the new exhaust.
