Yeah I don't really need to do much, if anything, in terms of performance, just make sure things are working OK. Appears to be an exhaust leak on one side, need to get that checked, and then I was noticing a fair amount of exhaust fumes getting into the cabin and fairly annoyed about that but I read this was 'normal', but then yesterday I saw this is likely due to a known issue where some vents in the rear of the cabin get dislocated and need to be re-fitted. More info here if you want to see: Gen 2 GTS cabin exhaust vent realignment - Exhaust smell in car with open window
Later on I need to upgrade the stereo situation, as you know I am big into music. Would like to do a 10 or 12W7 JL in a removable box, plenty of space for that in the trunk, interior speakers and probably the Pioneer single-din video screen with bluetooth etc. It needs to be pumping some serious wattage to over-power the exhaust.
Later on I would like to do a set of 5-spoke 19"s.
That's about it for now.
Looking farther down, a twin-turbo setup is not out of the question.
I dont see any issues with modern cars with halogen projectors upgraded to HID bulbs. (Accord, Camry and etc...)
Again, not arguing with you
. In a halogen housing could be projector or reflector halogens. They were all halogen housing. I think you meant to say reflector halogen.
But yah Viper was not a cheap car back then, i am glad they at least put some "luxury" item on the car.

I did and it was a regret for a long time - but - it was kind of a pushed-against-the-wall kind of scenario - I would have kept it if I could have... sold it in April 2004. And waited this long to get back into a real sports car... It has projectors. As long as he does not aim at the sky, i dont think it will blind people. But that thing is not new, so i dont know how the projector tech was back then.

Maybe it is specific to Jeep or a particular type of bulb. We know aftermarket HIDs are not created equal.
I have personally driven quite a few newer Accord and Camry with aftermarket HIDs, to be honest, if i didnt know, i would assume it was factory. The cut off and visibility is no different than any of my previous cars with factory HID.
Another possibility is your Jeep's headlight is so weirdly positioned that normal HID bulbs just dont aim right?

I'm guessing your bulb was upside down, the return wire will cast a shadow.
I wouldn't HID the high beams, you'll lose your flash to pass capability without murdering the ballasts. The high beams are a perfect spot to use LED's.
I swapped HID's into the Jeep's factory projector housings and it went terrible. The glare was fine but the filament for the HID bulb cast a shadow in the beam pattern and the rest of the beam was spotty and just looked like crap. This would be fine if the shadow went into the shutter (not on the road) and if the beam pattern was ok but the design of the Jeep headlights didn't allow for this. It sucked so much I went back to halogens. Long story short, it won't glare but you might run into other issues.

I passed an original Viper roadster just the other day on the road and felt like my Genny was an SUV considering how I was towering above it! They are incredibly low to the ground...
I'm so anal that I would have backed the Viper in and got as close as possible to the support beam to give the ML more room.. But then again I do have issues...

My immediate thought as well as I was thinking it was a pseudo end spot... but once I looked closer I believe there is another spot next to him and he's perfectly between the lines.

never fear, you guys are gonna be proud of my parking job today. stay tuned

The bulb was manufactured upside down. The 9012 bulb only fits in one way and the return wire was exposed with the orientation it was made in. If it's a similar situation with the Viper you'd have a similar result because the projector isn't designed for a bulb with a return wire. If the bulb itself isn't specifically designed to fit in that particular housing in the right orientation, you're screwed.
Crazy I don't find the ML (oops GLE) to be that big , but next to the Viper it looks hugh.. It looks like you could put the Viper in the back of the Escalade.. LOL.

today I am going to do a mini-photo-shoot with my current parking job - stay tuned - as I said, you guys will be proud of me
looks like a skateboard next to those SUVs. I rented a GTSR in Vegas but had to return it because it kept over-heating.... couldn't fit in the thing regardless. They gave me a Vette for an additional day. That was like driving in a Cadillac comparatively.
They had disconnected a harness for the AC, I found it in the engine bay and reconnected it. No AC in Vegas? :uhh:
Needless to say it was my fault it over-heated..... I couldn't drive it anyway because I couldn't get my feet down that little tunnel for the pedals.
It drove real hard, though I don't know what else I should have expected in a GTSR. It's a race car.
Comparing it to the Vette is definitely not fair. I couldn't picture myself owning either, but the Vette is just such a nice car. It does everything so nicely.

Those kinds of cars are meant to be driven hard...BUT I would imagine some rental places probably neglects proper maintenance since if you rent out exotics it's going to be even more expensive per mile than a regular owner....tires/suspension/steering/transmission/etc./etc. all probably needs more frequent maintenance/update than otherwise would be called for
