Is it just me being very beind since I just got my Speed Channel back or Speed Channel has always aired 5th Gear shows???

P.S. I love this show. One of the guy that does the car testing hates all cars and drives the shit outta them!!! And that woman could probably kick a lotta people's asses in driving!!

 

I think you mean Topgear. The guy doin' the laps is 'The Stig'.

The show on speedchannel is called 5th gear...and I think it's the same person...is this a newer version of top gear or something different?

btw, they just had a guy do some road testing after he smoked a joint...i love this show!!!

p.s. his performance after the joint was surprisingly better...

 

Could be; I only know Topgear and from what you discribed I kindoff thought you meant this program. The hosts are funny and they always have the nicest cars. What they've been doing in every show for the last couple of months is have 'famous' people (in the UK anyway) drive a lap on a closed circuit in a 'reasonable priced car', being a Suzuki Liana. ALso very funny to watch...

They call it 5th gear here for whatever reason, but it's barely an adapted version of Top Gear. Props to Speed Channel for bringing this in. It's a lot better than Autoweek if you ask me (I often get the impression they get paid by the manufacturers to say what they say).

I hear that. Autoweek seems more like cheerleading with the way they gush over everything.

 

There was already a thread on this. The show is 5th gear, not Top Gear. But the driver, if its still Tiff Needel, used to be the old host of Top Gear before they retooled it and brought in the stig, etc. Tiff is a maniac driver who has an obsession with oversteer. I have old top gear videos of him doing insane things, like the M5 test drive he did where hes driving straight, does a 360 spin, and then continues on driving all as one fluid motion.

But the may not be on the show any more. Not sure

 

Didn't Tiff Needel used to drive touring cars (BTCC) ?

 

Not sure about BTCC but he did have a cup 'o coffee in F1...
