something crazy happen

so i was driving my brothers car from colorado springs and i looked in the rear view mirror and i see sparks. i pulled over right away and me and my brother got out to see what was wrong. my brother goes up to the front wheel well and looks and than screams out open the hood and get me some water. im standing there brain dead like why would he need water. so im like what, than he's like shut the car off and open the hood and get water. and im like why and he screams fire. so i shut the car off and pop the hood open. my brother opens it and there was really fire. so i grab the water and poured it on the turbo cause thats where the fire was..... after the fire was out the exhaust manifold was red hot. the turbo sits right under the exhaust manifold. he has a 92 240sx with a sr20 in it

Glad you are both OK. Although the fire definitely had to be extinguished, be prepared for either/both a cracked intake or turbocharger housing.

Most likely an oil return from the turbocharger is the culprit. The bearing is probably spun as well.
