Sounds sweet. Could have kept the RPMs a bit higher during start. 1-2 shift was a bit slow, the rpms dropped all the way to 5,000. Overall, not too bad for tsx.

check out the TSX section, i am pretty sure that is Jtso's TSX, he posted the vid, it is pretty sweet...

Also, the gearing on the TSX is what makes the RPM drop to 5K on the 1-2 shift.

...which makes it a mixed bag. Torque is so much more useable in the not so open roads of NJ.

Shifts are way slow. And launch is poor.

Granted, with a modern cable shifted FWD car, you're not going to be ripping 1/10 of a second speed shifts (or power shifts - not good with a front driver). But his shifts are definitely wasting a lot of time.

And the launch was made at too low an engine speed. With these low-torque engines, you need to launch with a lot of RPM and slip the clutch enough to keep the R's in the torque curve.

I would bet he could pick up at least 1/3 of a second with the above corrections.

Box stock I would be REAL surprised of one has. There just isn't very much under the hood to manage a 14 second E.T.

I'll tell what what IS amazing to me. The fact that an over 3500 pound front drive sedan with a high final drive (3.29) and a small V6 engine (196 CID) can rip off a 14.3 second quarter mile at 99 MPH. Now that's impressive.

Keep in mine he may be on stock rubber. No point in launching hard and sitting there spinning.

no, I had intake and headers. but my CL-S was an auto.

The TSX has very low torque, but it will spin the tires. Still with such low torque, you can launch harder and control it better. This video definitely shows a lower RPM launch and a little bogging.

Yep.

Anyway, front wheel drive cars are notorious for poor traction. Just no way around it with a street setup - stock conditioned car. Physics are against you with FWD.

That's a good time if you think about it, half the ricer's out there run in the 15's so the tsx should beat some if not most of them... i/h/e/p and maybe a hondata you should be set IMO
