Some Damage to TEIN's- PICS

Some damage to my coilovers, should I be concerned? I'm not sure if this will impact the adjustability or not. I'd rather not send this back if it won't impact performance.

Do they spin freely? If so then I wouldnt bother sending them back but if you feel slightest bit of hesitation when trying to tighten/loosen the spindle then send them back.

My friend is saying that as the two still lock up together, it should be fine and just not to use the wrenches on that part.

Personally, i'd send it back one way or the other. I'm assuming you paid a reasonable amount of money on them (you didn't buy them used, did you?) you should have them with no defects.

Although I'd be eager to have them on, if paid for something like that for that amount of money, I'd prefer to send it back and have a new one sent back to me.

Good point guys, I think I should just return it. I just hate the entire ordeal of going through the claim, etc. I'll see what the vendor says.

You'll just have to suffer with the pathetic handling of the NSX with its stock suspension for a few more weeks.

or some ZEALs.

But, in all seriousness, if it's just cosmetic damage.. hell just slap them on and slam the car ASAP.

On a serious note though, I don't think I would swap out the suspension on the NSX...wouldn't practically everything be a downgrade?

Thanks guys for the comments. I'm going to see what the vendor says on Monday. He already said he's going to work it out with me. The fact that the damage won't impact the functionality of the coilover is good news, but you guys make some excellent points and I should also think about resale. If an exchange can be made problem-free, then why not?

If that locknut is the only thing dinged, see if they can just send you a new locknut.

The orientation of those two locking rings is strange....are you just putting them together like that to show a comparison?...I'm asking because they don't go together like that when installation is completed.

this would drive me nuts

How did that happen? Was it dropped? Did something slam into it? How do you know something else wasn't effected by what caused damage to the Locknut? Yea, i'd return the whole thing.

pretty sure you are wrong cause that is the way the lock nuts go together on a set of tein flex coilovers.
