This. A7 is a luxo barge. It's designed to bomb down the autobahn at high speeds for long periods of time while keeping its occupants in complete comfort not carve canyons.

Just drove it another 50 miles and yeah, I'm in love with the car. I set the speed limit warning @ 90mph because it's hard to notice you're going 25mph over

As I was pulling into work, I saw a customer pull in with the same year / color A7 as me except he had powder coated black Prestige 20" wheels.

Even at stock height, the car looked great.

I think the silver looks

Just covering my bases and ensuring it was not a subtle hint you have a Ferrari in your future!

Yeah that generation A7 is the most sexy one!

Here I am not mechanically inclined to try to get on this bandwagon. I'm shopping for a CT200h hahahahaha

It's been a tough winter .

We've actually had record low rain fall so far this year ... I wish it would rain more.

The amazing thing about that car is that 90% of people wouldn't be able to tell that it's an older one with high miles that you paid $7k for. They all think its' a $80k Audi.

The design has aged super well but inside and out.

This.

Car MSRP'd at 64k and looks expensive and has aged really well.

Few coworkers checked it out yesterday and they didn't believe I got it for 7k ... let alone that it KBB'd for 10k-13k.

My taste in cars are humble as they come and my intent with buying this car is not looking upperclass at all - I like deals!

Mine was 49k new. 2018 A4 S Line Premium Plus. 29k miles. Got it for 25k. I will never buy a brand new car again. We lease the SQ5. Doesn't really get used during the week. But it's the weekender.

More evidence. I know cars and I would have pegged that car at $80k.

both mine were about $58K the way they were built...
crazy what a deal you can get on these cars based almost SOLELY
on an old bad reputation.

So what? Other car brands don't have failed door lock actuators and
thermostats? Guessing most shade tree mechanics just don't have
a set of triple square and torx bits.

Your deal was insane, T....no brainer and I'm grateful you bought it
because if you hadn't and you had shared that deal with me...well, you already
know where I was 3 days ago.

Very happy for you, @TylerT ...gorgeous Audi. And even more attractive given how much you got it for.

Is it just me or are there a couple of dents on the aloomineeuhm trim by the shifter?

Yup - I don’t care about the little dents but if the trim is ever removed I could probably pop most of it out.

I love the look of the A7. Honda apparently did, too, they copied it for the Accord X

And $7k? Story time, how did that happen?

Congrats on the new car!

Thanks man!

Price was too good to pass up because it came from my wife’s aunt.

It’s far from perfect but mechanically it’s pretty stout.

I plan on addressing the rear quarter panel damage soon!

Got a chance to climb under the car this weekend and I'm happy to report there are no leaks, no blown axle boots, nothing. Zip. Nada. Zilch. No issues what-so-ever.

I did a full OBD11 scan of all 29 systems and returned 5 faults;

2 for the electronic parking brake (meh), 2 for side lane assist (meh), and 1 for AC system (meh, AC system works so I'm not sure what it's on about), and I also did notice the battery was at 11.4V which means it may be time for replacement.

Otherwise, transmission / engine are solid with no codes. For a 150k Audi, I'm not complaining

Can you tell that they never opened the hood / cleaned anything? Untampered with:

Quick wipe down ... definitely needs a pressure wash.

I have a pretty deep garage and this thing is long - It's exactly 19" longer than the B5 S4

0 leaks - nothing out of place.

Wife approves and I quote "This thing definitely isn't a shitbox".

Thanks for reading.

That's awesome. Going to assume then you're changing the oil there, not adding some.

Correct

LiquiMoly 5W40 .. first car I've owned that doesn't have a dipstick from factory and you need to rely on the oil sensor / checked via Audi's MMI.

Also, you know it's an Audi when you need 3 different tools just to remove the stupid undertrays

Torx
Triple Squares for the under tray bolts
Phillips head

That was the worst part of oil changes on the W205, getting the undertrays off. Luckily they were all 1 size & the bolts interchangeable.

See .. you'd think that's what they would do.

But they didn't.

But hey, at least the undertrays are soft touch / fabric .... air & road debris need to be pampered too!

you still have all the hardware for your undertrays?

in an Audi you don't change oil, you just keep adding it. a quart every 1000 miles is normal to burn so every 7000 miles, you'll have 7 new quarts anyway. #math

Your wife knows what's up...but also don't ever let her call it a NOT shitbox. We love shitboxes.
Also, yes I'm old and old school but a physical dipstick was one of the first things I ordered for both of mine.
