Mehhhhhhhh - the whole point of the car is comfort ... can't imagine how some rubber bands would feel on some 21/22s.

agreed... When Honda Accord has 19" stock... S4 deserves at least 20"

Rolled over 150k miles the other day in the A7 - no faults via ODB11 have returned .
Fucking love this thing .. I've consistently gotten 28-31mpg on the highway on the way to work. Car has a 20 gallon tank so it wouldn't be out of the question to get between 500-550 miles per tank on roadtrips .
Also ... recently discovered the A7 does not seat 5 .... so there's that
@rockstar143 - looks like Round & Brown's color .... maybe they're distant relatives?

Things have been crazy, but have managed to squeeze in some time to correct the A7's paint.
Honestly, for a car that sat outside most of it's life & washed very sparingly, the paint was in really good condition and minimal swirls - moreso on the hood / trunk / areas near the windows, otherwise, only took 2 passes with a reasonably coarse cutting pad & Wolfgang correction cream.
Once the car was corrected, I moved on with 1 pass of the Wolfgang sealant ... and left it - 7 hours total and I ran out of time.
I intend on adding the ceramic coating soon before the sealant gets too out of whack, but we'll see.
Few pics along the way:
Also ... found 'the' set of wheels I was looking for. They're found on the Prestige model - tires are 265/35/20 .... first time I will have 20" wheels
Got them $600 - new tires will be between $800-$900 and I'll flip the old set for $500-$700.
Barely any curbage.
So stoked on these.
Thanks for reading.

I noped out of the TDI after I did some quick online research....no thank you...the headache is not worth the extra MPG/miles per tank...maybe a A/S7 in the future for me....we'll see....

I almost got a A7 TDI last year...but the A/S/RS-7s are absolutely incredible and I love that they are the hatchback and just as this pic shows...it can be super practical while still looking very sporty.

Only big services I’d like to tackle is carbon cleaning / doing the ZF8 trans fluid change.
Smooth sailing so far

Looks great!
If you're going A/S on tires, I suggest the Michelin Pilot Sport AS3+. We're on our 2nd set on the Flex & they've been fantastic in all conditions. They have an AS4 now, but I haven't read up on it.
If going summer tires, I'm out, no suggestions there.

Thank you!
Funny, that's what is on the car right now. Although, I'm not sure if they fit 20" wheels .. makes me think I need the AS4.
I am considering all seasons for sure - this car isn't built for handling

Our Flex is on 20s: 255/45-20.
But, just checked TireRack & they don't show any Michelin AS tires for 265/35-20 size, only Summer tires (Pilot Sport 4S, PSS, Sport Cup 2/2R).

Oh well - doing a bit more research and trying to find something around $1,000 mounted and balanced. Can't wait to throw these on ...

When I had the Merc, I had a set of Bridgestone RE980AS on it just before I sold it. Almost as good as the AS3+, but they were ~$200 cheaper when I got them, OTD.
Tirerack shows them in 265/35-20 @$288/each
IIRC, I got around 35-40k out of them on the C. Much better than the 16k I got out of the OE Conti Run-Flats

Tire appointment set on 5/24! Can't wait.
Decided to go with ToyoProxes Sport A/S - $875 mounted & balanced - well reviewed and about $400 cheaper than the Pilot Sport AS3/4.

It's not a race car. Get good tires that last a long while and are quiet/comfortable.

True.
But, we have the AS3+ on the Flex & I have Michelin LTX on the Malibu. Can definitely tell the grip difference between the 2, even with the Malibu having probably 50% the HP of the Flex.
If I still have the Malibu when it's time for tires, probably still spring for a set of AS3+ or AS4.

I generally check multiple avenues for tires .. OfferUp had a pair of 265/35/20 Pilot Sport Cup 2s from 2 different sellers for about 400 combined price tag. Tires had plenty of meat on them too.
I then realized this isn’t a GT3 RS and moved on to some all seasons .

Exactly why I went with All Seasons.

I'm not excited for the heavy hit on wheels/winter tires for the Tesla I'll have to buy this fall. Have to get new wheels/tires for the Subie as well. It'll be an expensive month lol.

Yeah, even on the Merc, I kept with All Season tires, just the most sporty AS I could get

Phase your way into it & buy 1 component a month, then get them all mounted/balanced. Unless you're planning on ordering a pre-mounted combo.

Don't know what I'm going to do yet. Will probably buy a set for the Tesla first because it has summer only tires and wait until later in the season (before the snow really starts) to get Subaru tires since it has all seasons now.
