Keep the expenses at $0.

$2400 spread out over 4 years is still $50 per month. I don't see anything on that list that is an absolute must. I say use that money for a nice dinner out with the lady every month or something.

LS+ Bluetooth ordered.

In Cyber Metallic Grey (Charcoal). I thought quite a bit about the color, and decided to skip the blue because honestly I can count maybe 5 cars ever that looked great in Blue.

Good choice on the color.

Congrats. Did you get them to pay for Bluetooth or did you have to do?

The dealer I went to sold out of 2.4's the 3.0 liter was smooth. From what I've read the 2.4 is the way to go and I wouldn't doubt it. My co-worker has a malibu with the same engine (but less power) and I thought it was a v6 for awhile.

I gave the build out sheet to my boss with bluetooth included, he said he's pretty sure they include it now. If they don't I'm not going to pay for it. I think I'm going to add a trailer hitch too after wards for a bike rack, luckily my cousin is in the biz so it will cost me next to nothing. I'm pretty excited about getting the new ride. This is going to be a long 10-12 weeks, I can't believe ordering a vehicle assembled 1.5 hours away would take so long.

I finally took delivery of my 'nox yesterday. It's amazing how having 3 or 4 middle men can really slow down a process. Anyways here it is. I ended up changing my mind and going with black, then when the fleet company finally moved no local dealers had black in stock so charcoal grey it is. Ended up with the LS + BT (free).

My initial impression is the 2.4 is a decent power plant, I've already found myself accidentally over the limit by way more than I thought. However there are 2 caveats. The first being that the throttle response leaves something to be desired, seems to lag quite a bit. I'm not sure if I notice it more because my van was mechanical throttle. The second being that the transmission seems to need to shift around enough to be perceptible, again I'm not sure if that's an attribute of having a 4 banger or not since I've driven v6s the last 6-7 years. So far the vehicle is tight, no rattles or anything. I'll report more once I get some miles on it.

I thought you got the Equinox months ago, glad to see you finally got out of the Sucklander. What kind of mileage do you put on yearly? I remember you saying you put around 140,000 kms before you're eligible for a new car.

That's a hell of a nice perk. Enjoy!

30k-40k a year. This year will probably be more though since I'll be doing a lot more interfacing with customers.

Have you ever browsed the Edmunds-Insideline site? They did a long-term test of a GMC Terrain which I believe is almost the same as the Equinox. Its pretty interesting to see how cars hold up over as the miles build. Here's a link:

Good choice.

I liked the blue, but charcoal was a close second. I would have gotten the Bluetooth as well. I spend a lot of time in the car as well so the convenience of having Bluetooth is awesome.

Thanks. I'm finding myself looking forward to driving it everyday. Even though it's a base model it's still fun to rip around. Once it's out of the break in period I'll giv'r the lead foot.

The wife and I had a GMC Terrain as a rental vehicle in Seattle just last week. The vehicle itself is awesome and very space efficient. Nice equipment, good ride, great styling, nice fit and finish. We really like the black and white leather upholstery. However, it had the 2.4 /6A combo and I thought that was the most horrible drivetrain of any vehicle I've been in short of the old Kia Sportage i rented in Chicago! The transmission clunked, surged, puked, and farted away everywhere we went...not one smooth shift that I could remember. And the 2.4....184hp my ass!. That number is probably about 40hp overstated. Loved everything else about the vehicle though...

I've read reviews about those cars, and apparently they're on the heavy side of crossovers, and the gears in their transmissions range from Yao Ming to the CN Tower. Might be why the car didn't seem too powerful, Jim.

My in-laws are looking at getting one of those. They are indeed nice-looking. Hopefully, they are more easily available than they were last year, as dealers couldn't keep them on the lots at that time.
