His brother ended up telling the mom also, so it didn't really work out that way. But as long as he's not out there close to killing himself I really don't care.

Tell your friend that I'll solve everything by purchasing the bike for $2500 and use it as my track bike.

and um... if im not mistaken it got smashed up

And I agree with the majority here - tell the mom. That kid is retarded having just spent hit barmitsva money on a fucking bike.

If he wanted he could have given it to me and I would have just hit him in the head with a brick - same outcome and I get money!

hope the situation works out well.

Chill, this is not what this thread is about. The OP seems pretty level headed and started this thread to try and do the right thing.

I think it is pretty obvious that you weren't joking and still aren't. Honestly, he is clearly shown himself responsible by his tone about inexperience and his regard to his friends. And a v6 fwd car is not too much car for a new driver. And I have no chip on my shoulder even though my first car was a POS because I don't let jealousy over material things eat away at my soul.

And to the OP, you did the right thing. I hope you enjoy your future bike, I would consider:

No, but I wouldn't expect you to tell me. When you find out this kid smoked a joint last night, are you going to go tell his mom?

I just don't think it was YOUR spot to rat him out.

Joints don't kill you. They'll do damage over the long run, but they don't pose an imminent threat to your life like a bike would to him.

And I didn't tell his mom, I told his older brother for the sole purpose of not having the mom know, but the mom still found out.

A 600cc street bike in the hands of a 15 yr old is a death sentence. The joint is not . You're how old now?

I'm looking at it from the 15 year olds side. Are you telling me if you were in his shoes you wouldn't hit your friend who just ratted you out?

I agree with CostCo. At that age, he doesn't know any better. Teenagers need guidance from those around them, including friends. I'm glad that the OP is being a good friend, even though his friend may not see it that way right now, if not ever.

But I'm telling you, I ride about 20,000 miles a year on my motorcycle and it's dangerous out there. A 15-year-old has no business on an R6 sportbike. Absolutely no way, none whatsoever, especially without experience, proper instructions or safety gear.

He may have just saved his buddy's life.

As far as he knew, he wasnt doing it out of jealousy he was doing it because he was concerned that his un liscened buddy was riding a bike.

I understand youre all about being the cool guy but sometimes letting young kids do what they want isnt right. Gonna let an 11 year old eat cake for breajfast lunch and dinner just because they "want to" and are "old enough to know better?"

Under 18 and under my roof = my rules. Hopefully by 18 theyre not idiots.
