So the Challenger...

kidding kidding...

This is my father in law's 1962 Chrysler Imperial. He bought from a customer sometime last year for about $1000. Its been sitting in his shop, but he has finally found some time to do a little work and get it registered. He had it out the other day when I went to go pick up my Jeep from getting serviced. So, I thought I'd share some photos.

Thread title was just wrong .

That Imperial's in great shape; hell of a deal for $1k. Does he have any plans for it?

The lines on that car are amazing. Love the headlight design. Pushbutton transmission? Sweet!

Thanks guys.

The car needs a lot of work. I'm my FiL will just tinker with it when he has time or potentially sell it later (though I hope he doesn't)

I'm pretty sure its had a paint job...and could use a new one. All the chrome needs to be redone. The interior needs to be redone, the dash has cracks. Pretty sure the electrical needs to be redone for the most part.

But it does run, and it is clean for all intents and purposes....looking at any other comparable model for sale and they are complete shit buckets for WAY more money.

Yes push button transmission. And an aftermarket 8 track player that still works

If I show up with some 8 tracks, can I ride around in it?

Very nice ride. I came in expecting the worst from the thread title but was pleasantly surprised.

The title made my heart drop you f**ker lol!

That Imperial is awesome! Even with 4 doors it looks great. Those big old Chryslers had some many cool design cues to them. Very cool.

It's not an Acura, so we shouldn't have this thread. Mods delete it, please, so we can get back to only praising Acura.

If he chooses to sell it in the future, you should buy it off of him!

Been busy...no time to get back here.

They guy selling (a long time customer of my FiL) wanted to sell for like 7k and my FiL simply said he wouldnt pay more than 1K for it....deal was made.

The car is not a clunker thats for sure. It's just not pristine, it could use some love to get it there.
