Sigh (Losing my Mind)
Ok so a quick update on my search for the perfect car....
I turned down the Si because of crappy dealerships here in NJ. I got a call from my Evo contact says he's willing to sell me his Evo whenever im ready.
But I'm kind of leaning towards a new car. I got a call about TL-S's being 7,500 underpriced only to find out the only TL-S's left are automatics. Which is a bummer. I'm not really looking for an automatic. But the price is right for the car.
So here's my question I am trying to spend less than 35,000 what car would you go for if you had 35,000.
My current list:
Used 2006 Evo IX: $26,000 with 19,000 miles
New 2008 Automatic TL-S: $31,152
New 2008 350z GT Quote: $35,000
The Civic Si is still on the radar but its getting killed off by all these much better cars being on end of the year discounts.
What direction would you choose?
(I am looking for a Quick, Moddable, but Luxury looking vehicle) I want it to look nice but also have some power too it.

Damn, well I will say an EVO is good for teenagers, and people in their young 20s, seeing that you are 28, dont think you want that. TL-S is good has luxury and a alright amount of mods available. 350z? umm do you have multiple cars in your household?
The way I look at buying cars (I have owned trucks, SUVs, Sports cars, and the TL). I look into what is the future use of the vehicle ie. Will you have a family that you need to travel with? Are you going to be tracking/racing the vehicle?
Me being in the hotel industry, I have to be presentable, not very presentable for me to be in a sports car especially when I have to take potential investors to a hotel.
Think about what you actually plan on doing with the vehicle and go from there....

I currently own a barrage of vehicles but the TL is my daily driver. The new car would also be my daily driver/mod car (hobby).
I do not want to get married and I absolutely do not want kids so a backseat is useless and pointless for me.
I want a Manual at all costs the Automatic TL-S fell to last resort due to it being an Automatic.
Oh and I am a Technical Support Specialist I work IT for an Insurance Firm. I sit at a computer 24/7 lol so I don't take anyone but me for rides unless I'm out to a bar or such.
well then seems as though you should get yourself in an evo, easier to modify than a TL-S or 350z.
Me personally not a fan of those small cars, otherwise I would have an IS350, I would get myself the 350z because it is a sports car, and has better looks than an evo

how do you go from the zed to tl-s, those are two completely different cars. forget the evo, if you are paying 30k for a car, it shouldnt be used. If I were you I would go for the Zed aka 350z, I would If I didnt have a family, or a civic coupe which I was considering.

So I've been trying to find out...how i'm supposed to buy a car that doesn't exist. Had one dealership lady say:
"Well they just don't sell as good as are maxima's so we don't carry them anymore."
Like....Their part of fing nissan....I'm so confused if your going to discontinue a car take it off your website.
That and the Nissan dealers I've been talking too are HORRIBLE service....I left one guy a message its been 6 hours....no callback, I emailed him nothing, I emailed another guy told me I had to wait 4 hours.
Like Honestly what are you POSSIBLY doing right now at nissan its middle of the work day your probably handling 3-4 customers tops. =/
Having had all manuals and one auto in my life I was bored to death driving auto and although I thought I really like the car when I bought it (Dodge Intrepid SE) I really missed driving stick and wasn't happy. I would say that if you don't want an auto either find a 6MT TL or go with one of the other cars. That said...I love my 6MT so I would recommend find a TL you want to drive.
I will likely end up with the TL-S if these Nissan (horrible) dealers would ever get back to me...24 hours INTERNET turn around...horrible.

But nissan/infiniti interior is not as refined as tl-s... The red lights are yummy
Ps. Lexus is350 should be on ur parameter aswell

I would except I don't think or haven't heard of a big modding community in lexus...could be mistaken though.
I would agree with the STI as well. And I didn't mean that the nissan/ infinity interior was anywhere as nice as ours. But its one of the closest cars in that price range that offer the 3 things he's looking for....power, luxory, and modability. And those G37's are gonna be bad!!!
i don't think I could buy an EVO IX, when I think the EVO X looks a lot better. but, I guess that's just personal preference.
I think I'd also like the Legacy GT, and i think retail on the spec B is even 35k. I'm not sure what the going rate for it is though. I always thought the Legacy GT had a pretty good combination of sport and luxury, and definitely has some mods that can be done, and you won't see too many others on the streets.
If you really wanted a sports car, I'd have a hard time taking a Z over like an s2k, but again that's personal preference.

The Evo IMO (you guys will think I'm on crack) has just as nice an interior as the TL.... the Recaros hold me in perfectly and look awesome, the Momo steering wheel feels great, is an ideal size, and it looks nice too.
Then we bring performance into the equation.... is it any comparison? Evo IX hands down for me. An S2000 is a great choice too, you just can't substitute the feel of an open-top roadster.

If you're 21, you should definitely pick up an EVO and have fun with it while you can .. chances are, as you get older, you'll start to want luxury more over fun factor. I'm 22 and I'm already losing some of my passion for a faster fun car ..
Well, then I think you should really scratch that from your list. FWD and Auto will kill the fun you would have in your other two choices.
To me, the Evo is the clear winner, simply because it is just as fun as the Z, cheaper, and has two extra seats. I would go with EVO fo sho, but that's just me.
