If any one you guys have the opportunity to take the time off and go, we have a few extra passes. It will "rock you like the 4th of fricken July". Its insane. We usually hit the show from 8am till 2ish, getting all kinds of free goodies, then go hit the casinos and clubs later on. Its incredible, the cars and the knowledge is wonderful.
Like I said we have some extra passes, so if you are serious shoot me a PM.
(My friend has a booth every year and gets us passes)

Plus if I get another ticket I think the wife will kill meh.
I'm not sure if it was here on Acurazine or not but a few months ago I entered a contest to win free tickets to SEMA. This afternoon I got an e-mail saying I was selected to be a part of the Opinion Leader Program. Here's the e-mail...
"Dear Tyler M...,
Congratulations! We would like to extend an invitation to join us at the 2011 SEMA Show as a part of the Opinion Leader Program! The program will take place on Thursday, November 3rd. We hope that you will be able to join us.
On Monday, September 19th, you will receive a questionnaire that also serves as your RSVP for the program. YOU MUST fill out that questionnaire by Thursday September 22nd in order to remain eligible. If you do not, we will assume that you do not want to attend or are unable to make it, and therefore you will NOT receive a badge in the mail. So please be sure to fill it out! Please do not respond to this email as an RSVP. It will not count as a confirmation of your attendance.
As an added bonus, you will have the opportunity to return on Friday, November 4th to explore the Show on your own. However, you MUST pick up your badge holder on Thursday morning and participate in the program in order to enter the Show on Friday. No badge holder will be given out after 12 noon on Thursday November 3rd. The SEMA Show is trade only, and you are being given a unique opportunity to see something that other automotive enthusiasts can only read about in magazines or see on television.
If there is someone you would like to share your experience with, you may bring a guest. Each of you will be limited to 1 guest, no exceptions, and they must be at least 18 yrs old. If you want to invite a guest to join you, YOU MUST include their information in the above mentioned questionnaire that you will receive. Please include the information only in the questionnaire; do not send us an email with the guest information. Once you have completed the questionnaire confirming your attendance, you will not be allowed to add a guest later.
After we have confirmation that you will attend, your badge will be processed and mailed out. Along with your badge, you will receive some additional information, including some maps of the Las Vegas Convention Center. Although you will receive your badge in the mail, you will need to pick up your badge holder at Registration, located in South Hall on Thursday, November 3rd. This is very important. You need this badge holder in order to enter the Show. The badge alone is not enough to be admitted on the Show floor.
In the meantime, please visit the following websites for useful information: http://www.sema.org/opinionleader and, http://www.semashow.com . You should also visit http://www.semashow.com/travel-and-lodging for hotel information.
We look forward to seeing you in Las Vegas on November 3rd.
Regards,
SEMA Market Research"
Seems pretty legit to me but I'm not 100% sure. I guess I'll have to wait and see if I get the form in the mail on Monday.
Going to SEMA has always been a dream for me so if this is legit, I'll be going

Dude if you want to stay on the strip but don't want to spend a lot stay at the Hooters Hotel next to the Stratosphere. I'm sure there will still be rooms available and since it's an older hotel it's damn affordable.
Thanks! I've been on the SEMA site reading about the Opinion Leader Program and seems legit. I'll be attending a trade show on Thursday that isn't open to the public and such. I'm looking forward to seeing what comes in the mail on Monday!
Who has been to the SEMA show before? Is it as amazing as I've always thought it would be? I've been dreaming about going since I was young.

I'm going to try to make it out there this year, permitting I can get out of work at that time. We'll see!
