Looks a little lean to me, especially in that 3.5k-4.5k rpm range.

 

That sucker weighs just south of 3k lbs too.

I've never really taken a look at these cars. They are uber cheap! Might be a replacement for the CL-S in a few years. Can you get navi in the tC?

 

I just went to the Scion site to check it out... needs leather and navi and i'd buy one. I like the way they look.

Some say the same about the CL with high horsepower, which is untrue. Can't vouch for this car since I haven't driven it but I'm sure an LSD will soon be available, it might already have one. I don't know much about these cars yet.

Untrue? My modded TLS had terrible torque steer Heard the 6-speed CLS is much better though.

Depends on the engine though.. A good competitor to the Scion's engine is my Accord's 2.4L I-4. I have a feeling both would perform similarly under boost

I completely agree. I love Honda engines myself. The I4 in my Accord is pretty smooth and powerful. So much so that you sometimes don't even realize it's a 4 cylinder. I also have like the VQ, but I do miss my CL's J-series sometimes (VTEC roar and smoothness)

 

that's a 2.4L i4. that's alot of displacment. Until recently no honda engine had that much. Look at the stock k24 block with the RSX-S head. Nearly 200ftlbs of trq. I'd argue you'd see the same amount in a similar sized engine.

Negative, I still feel Honda makes the best engines on earth. But They usually are a little lacking in the torque department.

 

Too bad they didn't make a project out of the trd supercharged tc. Rather have the car come from the dealer with the F/I and then mod it.

^ Which isn't installed in any Toyota currently sold in the US. Slightly altered for a few Lexus applications, but it isn't nearly the same as the Supra.

Every 5 speed auto doesn't have issues. Everyone knows that, well except for you. There's only a 15-20% failure rate. Of course eventually all transmissions will fail, but from wear and tear, not the design defect.

EDIT: I have over 80,000 rattles on my CL-S and the only rattle I have comes from the license plate frame on the bumper.

Yes Toyota is reliable, but they aren't bullet proof and when it comes to power, the Honda motors out there now trounce all over Toyota

 

Doesnt matter that it isnt installed in any current toyota he stated that Toyota engines > then Honda engines, and that is true Toyota has made better engines the obvious 2jzgte. And 3uz-fe, 2zz-ge, 7mgte, and i guess if you would like to talk 4 cylinder no honda 4 cylinder will match the 3sgte that the MR2 Turbo's came with

so over all if we are talking about stock engines that the car makers made for their cars throughout the years Toyota > then Honda, but if your talking as of right now currently and talking just 4 cylinder i will give that to you the K series Honda motor blows the GTS 2ZZ-GE away "i think" mod for mod stock for stock

2JZ-GTE and 3SGTE = greatest motors
