Holy Santa Clause shit, that thing is gorgeous!
I absolutely love the dash.
So, when's the tune going on?

There's nothing out yet for it unfortunately; but, I do occasionally lurk over at Club Lexus forums. There are a couple of guys already at it trying to tune, so we'll see.

This IS is absolutely gorgeous. Some people hate that front grille to death, but I think it's fantastic. The interior along with that instrument cluster is just incredible.

Gorgeous.
The new IS has definitely grown on me & I like that the red isn't overdone on the interior, nice contrast of red/black up front. I think the back could use something, bit too much red for me, IMO.

We need to hook up soon!
Ran a couple of errands this weekend; and I must say, sitting behind the wheel is very inviting. I love the feel of how everything is laid out.
As mentioned before, another unexpected observation is how quiet the cabin is. I jumped on 95(EXPY) for a bit and the car gets up to speed VERY quickly. It was doing 90 to 100 with very little effort... City driving isn't bad, but turbo lag is very noticeable. That all changes though once they get some air through them though; it really moves then.
As a daily to haul the little one around from time to time, it's the ideal car for the next 27 months.

+/-17lbs... Under normal driving, you may hit 3-5 psi under moderate acceleration in pace with traffic, while hwy cruising you're constantly hovering around 1-2 psi.
As I mentioned, it's not street racer; but, where it really shines is on the highway or passing is general. There really is no sense going to manual mode to use paddles because the ecu does a pretty darn good job - seriously, it's that efficient. For having 8 gears, it moves through gears like nobody's business! You'd never know what gear you're in unless you have it up on the display.

Update:
- Just crossed 2k this morning
- Installed Burger Tuning intake this past weekend. I can finally hear spooling & wastegate dump under heavy throttle / release!
- Still stewing on BT tune; waiting on more reviews to trickle in over at clublexus.com.
With the exception of the brake dust, so far so good... neat car.
I'll get pics up after this week's AZ meet.
In other news,
Truck is in the process of being sold, looking at new lease options for the wifey. She has her heart set out on the Q5.
Any one here has any first hand experience / feedback on them?

My cousin bought one back in 2012, it had tons of issues and she sold it for a used TSX when the warranty was about to expire.

I'm not too fond of it TBH... but, she's all about it... we'll more than likely test drive this weekend.
We were given an NX200t for a couple of days while the IS was being tinted a couple of months ago. VERY spacious on the inside with plenty of leg room; more so than the GLK... - this with a kiddie car seat strapped in the rear. She couldn't get past the exterior styling though .
If we can swing a deal similar to the IS, it'll be another no brainer.
We'll see.

JMO, but if you want a family car that should probably be reliable...I'd look elsewhere. Have you guys checked out the new Volvo XC90? Gawd dayum it's pretty and far less expensive than I thought it would be. Not much more (or similar cost) than the Q5.

Are you sure you don't want a "normal" colored car in the stable?

Update:
Got rear ended by a school bus 5/24; can't post pics yet due to ongoing investigation...
Wife & I are ok; daughter wasn't in the car at the time... thank god.
Damage was pretty significant; although, the car is still worth more than the payout to total it at 8,700 miles on the clock... that said, they're repairing it. We'll opt out of the lease for an SUV as soon as the car is repaired.
I'll post pics & video (yes - video from near by business where the accident occurred) as soon as this is done and over with.
Been in / out of loaners since then...
Wanted another grocery getter with some oomph within a set budget with no payments. Started looking into B5's Avants, but sellers are entirely over pricing them... long story short - and I do mean long, ended up locking up a deal for a sedan in TX. Plan on flying into Dallas next week and making the 19hr trek back home in this thing
Light Silver Stage 2 B5 S4... all major service items have been completed and the list of mods is pretty lengthy.
Since the power is already there, plans are to do an RS4 conversion (aesthetics only).
Taking the DSLR with me to document the trip and report back!
Special thanks to Tyler T & Tyler M for all the help & info.... you guys rock! :gheyhug:

New B5 owners ftw!
They really are phenomenal cars when kept up properly, looks like you got yourself a clean example that was enthusiast owned
You got my digits, call me if you have any questions on the drive!

FYI - a strong Stage II car should be right around 300awhp ... and even more torque.
Have fun

So long as it can make the trek home (which I was told the car made a trip to Colorado and back late last year with no issues), I'm good.
I'll take it straight to S. FL Motorsports as soon as I get back home for a full scan... They've worked on my previous builds; I trust those guys with my first born.
