It's FL; can't go wrong with shorts & a v-neck tee! :ghey:

But yeah, part of a couple other communities... Not much activity though other than lurking. I post everything over here since my home build thread is here as well; two birds one stone.

What turbo came with the kit? Are you using the GRS intercooler or keeping the GP intercooler on there?

Garrett T25 A/R .80

Not sure which of the two I'll use just yet. The kit came with a front mount that appears to be bigger, but I'll check when I get home.

Wife snapped that shot after she signed for the packages.

That's a small turbo. You'll get a substantial pressure drop if you plumb a front mount. Jan will likely recommend the GP intercooler if you'll only be seeing 18psi with a stock cylinder head.

Small yes, but perfect for the 1.6l. Anything bigger would internal reinforcement unfortunately.

Got around to opening the boxes; the new IC is definitely bigger the the GP's IC, but not by much. Piping though is much smaller then I expected. I didn't measure, but I'm thinking 2.5" maybe; possibly 3"? I guess I was comparing from the front mount I ran on the j32a2. No where near as big..

The manifold is heavy as shit... yet another surprise in size. Don't let the pics fool you - mini parts for a Mini lol.

Going to drop parts off at the shop to be inspected and cleaned prior to installation.

So - I ended up selling the GP; had no time for the project... Also had a need for rear seats; little one starts the school next month and I wanted something bigger.

Wanted to buy, but drove less than 8k miles last year so leasing came into the picture. Test drove a couple of sedans but the one to leave an impression on me was the Lexus IS200t F Sport.

- Interior / cabin is just absolutely stunning; everything is literally within reach with very little effort to find.

- Exterior has plenty of presence with the sharp lines and the front being as aggressive as it is.

- Power, somewhat laggy off the line; but, once she's over 2k, there's plenty of power from there on out.

I was a bit surprised that I loved the car so much given the lack of a manual tranny.

From there, the sales guy ran the numbers and landed us a Tier 1 Plus package.

It was a no brainer!

I opted for the color option of Nebula Grey Pearl w/ Rioja Red Nuluxe Silver Performance Trim - which apparently is a rare color combo. The car was available and placed on hold for delivery tomorrow (Thursday).

Fast forward to this morning - got a call that the car would be delivered today instead. I thought heck, a day early!? No problem!

Then this happened...

Wrong color combo!!!!!!!!!!!

Grey on black.

Apparently, some asshole sales guy sold my car to someone last night!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not even the worst part - there's a 4 to 6 week wait for new cars to hit the port.

My sales guy tried to clean up the *uck up, but in the end I either have to select another color option that's available or wait +/- 6 weeks.

Ended up going with Obsidian w/ Rioja Red Nuluxe Silver Performance Trim. He also threw in maintenance as well as wheel & tire insurance at no charge for length of lease.

Still pissed about the whole thing. New car is scheduled for delivery tomorrow morning. Let's hope they get it right this time around.

/rant

That's beyond frustrating.

But congrats on the car. That car is very underrated. How's the leasing deal for it?

What the fuck?! I would raise holy hell and see if they could source one from another dealership. There's absolutely no reason why that should have happened.

Sorry dude

How long is the lease? Maintenance already is covered for the first two services; 6 Months/5k Miles and 12 Months/10k Miles.

Tyler, can you please have Mr Lexus call him? Thanks. This is total BS...he settled for some fucking tire warranty blowme bullshit as a consolation prize.

Marcel is too fucking nice...

I would have forced them to find another...or dropped MORE on the price for THEM to feel the mistake, not the customer. We shook on $20 for a blowjob. Not $20 for a handjob. Deal is FUCKING OFF.

I'm mad, son.

The lease deal was not the issue; my rate is damn near at 0%... I rather not say what my payments are, but it's nothing to bitch about at T1+ for 27 mos.

I hear you guys on not settling, but that means waiting +/- 4 to 6 wks...I don't have the time.

They checked all partnering dealerships within the state; nothing available.

At the end of the day, black isn't so bad. What I really wanted was the red interior and I'm getting it so it's all good.

My sales guy owes me a favor at this point, so we'll cash in when we go in for an SUV.

In other news, the GP is getting picked up today to be taken to California. Quoted to be a 5 to 7 day journey for the little guy; he'll definitely be missed.

Going to list the turbo kit for sale; I'm sure it'll go quickly as they're hard to come by.

I'll get pics up when the member arrives.

I want a picture of your member!

PS...I mentioned the payment in ramblings because Kevin was looking for a car with low payment. Sorry, I didn't think you'd mind!

I know you're right...if you were buying it and keeping for 10 years...then I'd probably be more hard pressed to get exactly the combo you paid for.

No prob

Yeah, if I were buying - it'd be a totally different story.

Same driver already called; should be here by 11.

He confirmed the color combo this time around!

Dang, sorry to hear the MINI is sold.. I was looking forward to the turbo build. Tell me Jan didn't buy a third GP haha.

The grey is definitely better, sorry you had to settle for black to get the red interior. Black is definitely the most stunning when it's freshly detailed.

Enjoy it in good health!

I just stumbled on your thread for the first time and I've been on an emotional rollercoaster. I've been wanting to come down for a meet and see your GP for the longest time. I came across the turbo purchase and started getting really excited! I was hoping the new update was going to be that it was installed, but was let down to see you're getting rid of it.

Sucks to hear the mix up on the new car. I'd be pretty pissed, but at the end of the day, it's just a lease. The Lexus is a great looking car.

Love the front end of the new car! Looks so aggressive... It would have been a lot of fun to line up our cars. Here is a virtual dyno of my Stage 3 tune. I'm still waiting for a revision from my tuner, so I'm hoping to see some bigger numbers. According to the guys on the forum, these readings are almost dead on as a real dyno run.

No reason why, but it does. We traded for a vehicle once from our sister store & it managed to sell in the exact time frame. Rare, but unfortunate instance that happens.

Possibly got 15K & 20K service as well. We did with the small mix up on our car.

Black over red is still a great combo. Glad he likes it.

I think the fact that someone doesn't clearly mark the car as sold the second the signature is put on paper is ridiculous. I know it can happen, but it never ever should. This was probably someone looking that combo, came on the lot...took delivery first so they sold it to close the deal. I wouldn't be shocked, it's South Florida.

Could've, but we're trying to be "responsible" parents lol. Academy starts next month, it ain't cheap... For the time being, figure I'll lease until she starts high school or so. I've ALWAYS wanted a Lotus Esprit ('97 - 04'); that's my ultimate dream car.

It'll happen

Yup, they included 15 & 20k. They're also going to tint the car as well.

At the end of the day, yes it sucks, but they tried to make things right and that's what matters. Mistakes happen (sucks when it happens to me), but they happen.

I took my time driving into work this morning fiddling with buttons, options, etc. The mouse pad for the media console takes some getting use to; VERY sensitive, making it easy to overshoot what you're trying to access. I'm sure there's an option to reduce that as well

What's really neat is that there's sub menu in the dash which moves the tach over to the right. From there you can see everything going on with the car, it's insane. I could only imagine what it would cost to repair should something go out on that alone

It started raining, so I couldn't snap any shots.

This.

Whenever an in-stock vehicle is purchased at my location, it's immediately moved to the "sold lot" where they sit until it's ready for detail, and there's a big sold sticker that's placed on the windshield. Not doing something similar is irresponsible IMO.

I'm still extremely excited for you! Hell, I work at a Lexus dealership and don't own one Enjoy it in good health!

Go into Setup, then select General, and it's towards the bottom. There are 5 different settings, with 1 being the most sensitive, and 5 requiring more force.

Also, make sure your dealership gave you the Lexus Personalized Settings (LPD) packet. You'll see that there are certain things that only the dealership can adjust, but they'll do them for free at your first service.

Get your Enform Remote set up as well!
