Saw a new RL on the street

The real thing is much better than pics~ awesome car.

Interior is the best that i 've even seen, much better than benz , bmw, or audi...

LED tail light, looks better than TL.

and everything is standard, even the GPS~ @_@

I saw one at the pleasanton acura in CA yesterday it just came off the truck and was unwrapped...needless to say i popped my head in..

It reminds me of a bmw 5-7 series...esp with the seats, console and the window screens that come up...

way too many toys.

I still like the TL better, it looks a lot more sporty

TL is marketed as the "Performance Luxury"
the

RL is marketed as the "Luxury Performance"

clever huh?

I have to agree this car looks better than it's on TV... dislike its headlight and taillight though...

Yes it does look nice in person, i saw one at the dealership to get my wipers fixed, it was white on beige. imo it looks similar to the toyota solora.

I like the feature that lowers the back headrests at the press of a button.

The Mercedes Benz E500 I was going to buy had that feature too,
but it was going to cost me an arm and a leg (plus they wanted to punch my right eye too!) - $89,500 (fully loaded).
so for $49,470 the RL is not a bad deal at all,
if you compare features by features + reliability. (+ AWD)

E500 for $89K? Do you mean S500 cause E500’s prices don't go that high fully loaded, unless the dealer was charging waaay over MSRP.

It does go that high, you only have to go to www.bmusa.com and configure
one with all the bells and whistles.

including:
- Xenon lights ($1,200.00)
- DVD navi ($1,220.00)
- special order custom paint metallic blue ($1,150.00 )
- Sun roof glass panel with solar cooling function ($1,550.00)
- foldable rear seat ($540.00)
- Top of the line sound system
- Parktronic sensors ($1,080.00)
- SIRIUS Satellite Radio ($679.00)
- Wood and Leather Keyless-Go-Shift Knob ($190.00)
- distronic cruise control
- AMG sports package ($4,900.00)
- Hands free communication system w/voice control ($1,450.00)
- Entertainment 6-cd changer sound system ($970.00)
- Ventilated front seats ($1,250.00)
- Tire pressure monitoring system ($400.00)
- automatic trunk closing (with a button) ($500.00)
- Drive dynamic seats (they adjust as you turn) ($1,180.00)
- Keyless Go entry (with no key) and start button on stick shift. ($1,060.00)
- etc, don't remember the rest

they charge you for everything, a lot.
it starts at $57,620 (base) + all features

the price could have been close to ($78,095.00) but including fees and taxes, I think it's above $80k

I also spotted the RL at the local dealership There was quite the wait for test drives so I only took a peek at the one on the lot that had the 'SOLD' sticker on it. U shud check out the Brembos on it. Which I believe come standard. The 'ACURA' letters on the calipers are raised up and silver in color, not printed/painted like we have on our TLs. Looks really sleek. Might snap a pic of them next time I can test drive one.

In your original post I thought you were comparing MSRP's since you mentioned the RL's $49K price tag and not the final "out the door" price. But still a fully loaded E500 won't go as high as $89K with taxes, dealer fees etc. unless like I said before that dealer is charging over MSRP or ridiculously high fees to get as high as $89K out the door.

there are no options on the RL, $49,470 is the out the door price.
all options are included in the price, including the DVD Navigation system.
I'm not counting delivery + TTL since every car has to pay for that... that's a given.

MB and BMW charge very high for comparable features...
I went to the BMW dealer last week, and they have a sign posted, that reads...
"Labor is charged at $99.50 per hour" - although many people pay a little less...

The RL does have options - 18" wheels, fake wood steering wheel () and wood shift knob, to name a few.

Yea, those E500's with every options IMO are overpriced. You could get a fully loaded Lexus LS430 for a lot less and it's a bigger more comfortable car.
