Sarlacc 3.0 (or maybe it'll get a different name)

The lease on the Alfa Romeo Stelvio is up. While it's been one of the most favorite vehicles to ever grace my garage it was time to look in to EV. And Alfa wont have a full EV until at least 2027.

So, 12 weeks ago I ordered this guy. The dropped it off at my house this morning. Already got a few cosmetic mods...mudflaps, lip spoiler, couple other things. Need to get it tinted. Pretty excited.

I'll get better photos when I have time. I have a night shoot at work tonight...ugh. Time to nap!

Guessing that's the outgoing Alfa in front of it?

How do you charge in a community garage like that? And how do you prevent others from using your charger, if you own the charger?

My Tesla is like the 6th or 7th one in this garage. None of us have a charger. There are plenty of chargers in our neighborhood to include a supercharger station. Cost is prohibitive to get one because of the distance from the meter. We've talked to the other owners and no one has had any issues. And since this is my wife's car for the most part, we have a charger that we put in at her mom's house which is half a block from her work. So, we're all good.

Nice pickup and I'm surprised you don't have a charger in the garage, seems many communities are adding them.

Why would you buy such a soulless POS golf cart?

Congrats! Welcome to the club of owning more Teslas than comfy or stunna!

What are your initial thoughts?

No guest spots in our garage, so no place to put communal chargers.

I've been told the acceleration is insane because the electric motor has almost no drive train loss.

Put 650 miles on the car since getting Thursday morning. Just got back from a trip to the desert. Between the trip and some night shoots prior to that all I can say is AUTOPILOT IS LIFE.

This feature not only made me feel safer driving home at 5am after being awake for nearly 24 hours. It completely takes the stress out of stop and go traffic. I was much more patient to let autopilot do it’s thing instead of getting frustrated constantly braking, accelerating, and trying to find the moving lane. I just let the car do its thing while I relaxed and enjoyed the ride for 90% of the trip.

Finally made road head safe.
It was pretty one sided to assume it should always be the passenger giving it.

Had my first service appt today. Tech called me to let me know he was outside. I went down and met him, and he was cool and let me hang out while he addressed a couple minor delivery issues. I also had wheel locks put on and homelink installed. He was super nice, informative, and quick. And he gave me 2 new card keys (the ones on delivery were warped) and told me go ahead and keep the old ones, too.

I need to update photos whenever I finally get it washed. I added some black trim cover on the hardware for all 4 doors, cupholder insert, matte screen protector, mudflaps, and I put the spoiler on while I was in the desert. I need to get some quotes for tint, and I'm debating about getting the full front done with PPF...but in the end its a car and I'll probably just skip it.

If I had one regret, its that I didn't go for the 20" turbine wheels. Not a biggie. And since the car looks like a stormtrooper my kids officially named the car Bad Aim.

Cupholder insert is a must have. I just put mine in the other day, it was on backorder forever.

What black covers did you get for the door hardware?

Ah ok, I never even noticed those latches lol. Only things I've done so far is the cupholder insert, the CF camera covers (on backorder), a drawer insert for the center console, and a set of winter tires.

I still need to go to the service center and buy a set of TPMS sensors since they're now some proprietary thing.

I wouldn't have even bothered with the latches but a friend got them and sent me the link, and since they only like $15 I figured screw it.

I need to get cubby organizers/dividers.

The show I’m on has had my working an hour outside the city, long days, heat and sun, beat in the morning and more beat at night. I WISH I had the Y to drive. I miss not having autopilot. Now I’m gonna have to figure out how to afford my own!

I finally got it tinted today.

Went with Xpel Prime XR Plus ceramic. 70% on the windshield and rear windows. And 35% on the front windows. Just got home and it’s too dark. Will have to get better photos later.

and for those that ask. The rear windows come stock at about 20% but none of the glass except the roof has any real UV protection.

I also put the lip spoiler on weeks ago. It doesn’t really show we’ll in wider shots with the shape of the car but it makes a big difference and streamlines the rear design of the car IMO.

The fact that YOU'RE spending money modifying a car tells me all I need to know about it.
Must be a cool thing.

kinda lost the urge to tons of modding post challenger...little things sure.

But the Tesla NEED tint. The huge greenhouse lets in so much light/sun and the fact it has no UV/IR blocking makes it that much more intense. Plus we go to the desert a lot. Added bonus of keeping the interior cooler is slightly better battery performance.

The lip spoiler...The car just needs its. The rear end just kind of "ends". The lip spoiler caps the design nicely and makes it feel complete to me. I do still regret not going with the 20" turbines. At some point I'll pull the hub caps off for the nicer alloys underneath.

Aside from probably getting ceramic coating at some point. I think the "modding" is complete for now.

But it's a great car. Will it carve twisties like the Alfa? No....but it has everything I like and want from a car. I dont miss anything. The best part is an accelerator pedal with NO lag. No sputtering, no jumping, no gear hunting, no shifting. You push the pedal and you go. No hesitation.

It's a gorgeous vehicle, for sure...
and there's decent aftermarket support for it now...
could we have a moment to talk to you about our lord and savior Jesus Velazquez lowering springs and some RPF1 quality budget wheels?

Yes. Yes I quoted myself. Mainly because I hit quote instead of edit and I believe that everything happens for a reason.

In Florida Tint is a no brainer...I get tempted to fishbowl every car I have and I just can't do it. Also, visually I think it looks better when the you
can't see the inside details that break up the sleekness of the car. The only one I do no tint is the S2000 but that's because I'm a top down always
kinda guy mostly...that and when I had that top with bad glass I wasted money retinting it twice and then when I had the top replaced I thought maybe
the heat absorption of the tint helped make the glue fail...plus it was never perfect always weird bubbles on that rear window...when the doors got streaks
it was the last straw.

The newer dual panel glass windows on the newer Teslas have UV protection built into the film layer in between the glass panels. No IR protection though. I've been thinking about getting tintz put on my car but it's not really all that important here in MN and I'd rather put the $600-$700 I was quoted into something else like some new wheels. Speaking of that, want some 20" uberturbines for your Model Y??? I think the ones on the Y are wider though...

Spoiler I 100% agree. If mine didn't come with one I would have added one. Is the one you got carbon or just black plastic?

The Uberturbines are 21” and staggered. I do wish I had ordered the 20” turbines. Oh well.

There is a little UV protection from what I could research but not like other cars. And with the large greenhouse I feel the sun and don’t like it. So tint for me was a must have. I believe the roof has uv and ir protection.
