RWD (Sport) Sedans w/ Manual Transmissions

Oh cmon, give the Avalon a test drive!
I rode in my boss's 2009 328i and it's exactly what I expected as far as power / ride comfort. Having personally driven and riden in both a AT / MT 3G TL-S, the TL-S would absolutely shit on the 328i.
Acceleration: TL-S > 328i
Top End: TL-S > 328i
Handling: Could go either way, the TL-S isn't exactly a slouch in the corners.
Brakes: TL-S > 328i
Given your price range, the 335i seems to be the only car that meets your criteria that's in your price range for BMW. That's however if you aren't looking for old M3s, E39 540s / M5s .
I would look into a low mileage 1G CTS-V, powergains and the vast aftermarket makes it look real good.

Huh that will require true patience. RS4s have retained their value exceptionally well. Most models with 45k+ miles are around the $40k mark. A proper one under 30k still goes for 46~47k. Definitely worth a look though.

If it didn't have it's drivetrain vibration, it would be a more serious contender. Infiniti's just don't live up to the "quality" aspect like I expect a luxury brand to. However, of all the cars mentioned, the G does offer the best bargain, so it does merit some consideration.
I still like my TL a lot. I'm not in a big rush to sell it and buy another car. Regarding the Infiniti, read above. The Genesis doesn't fit all of my criteria.
If the right car were to present itself, I'd buy it...hence, this thread. It might be another year before I actually make a move?

Don't know if it's been mentioned, but the G8 GXP has that skip-shift "feature" needed to get not-so-horrible fuel economy numbers. I think it blocks out 2nd if you're between 20% and 60% throttle or something like that, so you go straight from 1st to 4th. Pretty annoying, I'd imagine. If you're seriously considering the G8, I'd see if there's a fix for that first.
It looks like it's slim pickings in the category of car you're looking for, and most, if not all cars that fit your criteria have been posted. I think now it's a matter of deciding which one you like the most and finding a suitable example.

I'm biased, I hate BMW.
The lexus is a nice car for the 250 is VERY underpowered. It's a slug and just doesn't feel sporty.
The G37 is without a doubt my choice, fast, great 6mt, looks aggressive as hell shares all it's parts with Zs.

Thanks, Aman. Yes, I have thought about that car. The "skip-shift" feature is present, but is easily defeated, based on the G8 forums I've browsed. The G8 GXP is definitely a possibility, but are non-existent in the for-sale market. I've looked plenty of times. The G8's that are up for sale are the GT's, with auto-tranny's.

Someday, an RS6 Avant+
OP: If you will make an exception for an RS4, what about an S6? Those are 400HP plus and should come in around your price range.......?
Edit: Don't know if they have a manual as an option.

...and don't discount a CPO 07-08 TL Type S. It may be FWD but Acura truly dialed that car in as close to RWD (in performance) as any other FWD sports sedan on the market.

The question you have to ask yourself is whether or not you can live with that dancing (and less fluid than Honda) gearshift lever. If the value quotient is a strong consideration then the answer is probably yes. And as 4DGS mentioned earlier, many of the 370Z's 'go faster' parts can work with the G as well. (Not certain what's up with his BMW-hate but, I digress.)

I would love a 335i, but the base price with no options is a bit over $41k, if you can even find one. All of them come to the dealer with options stacked onto them.
I could special order one with no options, but that would take months from my initial order, and there would be no wiggle room to haggle on the price.

In that case you'd probably have to wait a year or two and get a good CPO example.

As simple as this and so true. Don't lose your time on pale imitators.

Now look what you did. Giving 6 viewing members disappointments.
I was gonna say the same thing you did about the 300C/Charger.
I dunno about the ATS. It's still at least a year off, no? And then maybe another year before the V comes.
