it looks like the bulk of the engine's mass is actually OVER the rear axle! this means, if i am correct, a more balanced 911!! [compared to the stock 6 cynlinder being BEHIND the rear axle and making the car tail happy when the driver doesn't know what he's doing].

with that said, i guess its more balanced, but there really is no reason to put a v8 into a 911. im sure Porsche enthusiasts wouldn't really get it.

 

Why not? It's lighter and prob is more neutral than a stock 911. Maybe handling like a Boxster/Cayman?

I read in the article that Ruf originally wanted a flat-8 but there was way too much vibration. I'm amazed the V-8 is so compact and fits into the same space as the flat-6. He even tuned the sound to be consistent with the flat-6 wail
