RSX unsuitable for Older Guy??
Help me.............I'm starting to like the RSX and went to the Acura website and "assembled" one in dark silver. Looked pretty good. Now the question is, would a silver haired guy over 50 look silly driving it? Not that I really care but I wouldn't want people to think I was having a "crisis"!
Looks like it has everything but heated seats and homelink..........I could deal with that. The only thing I didn't like was the price of the "extras", like upgraded wheels for a grand, fog lights for over $400 and the body aero stuff. Even if I keep options to a minimum I'm looking at 24,500 to 25K. I know that the dealers will be pretty firm on this too. Maybe I'll lay down until the feeling passes.............

From what I saw of it today (and sat in one), to put it simply, yeah you'd look like a mid-life-crisis-er.
It's a great little car, and if you're a car nut and you plan to mod it and make it really fast or something, that's cool - you'd look like a hip guy who still wants some excitement in his life.
But if you're just buying "a car" I would suggest looking at something else - even a CL-P.

this is just IMHO.

You could call me a car nut.....amongst the many I've owned these were fun....
3 Porsches
2 BMW's
2 SHO's
2 Mustangs (GT and Cobra)
I like performance and a little luxury too. RSX looks like a great sleeper, especially if you modded it a bit.

age is no problem... who cares if they think you're going thru a crisis!! I'll probably check one out, but I fear that I am a 6+ cylinder guy for the rest of my life. I don't care how fast you can make a 4 banger, I just really don't like the sound of 'em anymore. It's a bummer too, cuz they're are some pretty cool little 4 bangers out there....

I know what you mean. Torque is addictive, isn't it? But there is something cool about an engine you can rev the shit out of all day long, burn little fuel, and still turn in good 0-60 times. Just don't get caught in 2nd gear going too fast to downshift into 1st. I wish the RSX-S had navi.

Well since you're a self-proclaimed car nut, I say go for it!
Great little ride, nice touches of luxury in what is in reality a sporty hi-end economy car. Mod it and enjoy it.

get an S2000. forget about the RSXS. S2000 is lot more dollars. However, the S2000 is a rare and speciality car. My wife is bugging me to rent one for a weekend. The problem there is none to rent, worse none I can see at the dealer's showroom

dude, an s2000??? hes sorta complainin about spendin 25k. If I were you i'd go for the CL-s. It wont be as nimble...but youll look better and have almost the same sportiness but with more luxury and features.

Good suggestion about the S2000 - much better.
Btw, the hip/leg thing is true enough - my dad is hesitating getting a Vette after he test drove a Camaro SS with me and found out how heavy the clutch is on that thing.
(He's assuming the Vette clutch is similar.)

I like the Honda S2000 but I need a coupe that can haul a few things around and have a back seat in a pinch. I was kind of unhappy about the RSX price since "loading one up" would cost just about as much as my CL-S. They really slam you on the aero stuff and "extras" like the interior trim, so that you end up around $26-27k for a four banger.
Seemed a little steep even though it looks like fun. I have to agree with GoldTypeS that our "6" is pretty cool and moving down might be a bummer in the long run. Maybe I'll just "borrow" the wife's Si for a while-
