rsx-s or cl-s

would anyone trade their 03 cl-s for an 06 rsx-s everyone keeps telling me to get an rsx-s because it would kill my cl-s with cai headers exhaust what do you all think about the 06 a-spec rsx-s vs 03 cl-s should i trade and modifi the rsx-s instead

there's a guy here who just ran a 14.3 in his stock cl-s 6mt. that's about a second quicker than any stock rsx-s i've ever seen.

everyone you're listening to is full of shit.

Even IF the RSX-S ran a tad faster than your CL-S (which it doesn't) would that really be reason enough to trade it in? Seems like very flawed reasoning to me...

You can put a CAI, headers and exhaust on your CL too, ya know? With all that, you'd be looking at around 280 hp I believe...couldn't get anything close to that in a N/A RSX-S.

Stock RSX-S only has 200 hp if I recall correctly. Yes, it's lighter, but not enough to out-run your CL-S.

If you want a RSX, then buy a RSX... If you want a Camaro SS then buy a Camaro SS [1]...

Stop worrying about what other people say you should drive, and worry about what you want to drive...

If you did that in the first place you probably wouldn't have a case of buyers remorse with the CLS...

Take a RSX out for a test drive and see of you like it more then the CLS

[1] https://acurazine.com/forums/car-talk-5/camaro-ss-349831/

Edit: My brother and Suze Orman say I should have bought a car under $20K (civic), but I didn't listen to them... I bought what I wanted after some test drives...

If all you're looking for is a car that will kill other cars. Go get a Toyota Supra and mod the hell out of that.

Personally, I bought my CL because it was one of the best looking coupes. I think the RSX is Acura's version of a ricer. If you want an opinion, I would say "hell no," but you do what you WANT. You don't need us telling you what to do.

Hey, its your money do what you want.

I must admit the RSX type S is pretty damn fast. Just the other day I was playing with one up in the mountains (good ole mullhulland dr) , I had to push my evo pretty damn hard to keep up with it. I never knew it could handle so well.

The CL-S is a great car to commute and do daily driving. Even though the car drives like a boat (ie: quite a bit of bodyroll, and crappy michelins) you can go fast in that car without abusing it. (In a straight line that is)

I say you keep the CL-S. Don't spend one dime on modifying it. When the time is right later down the line when you graduate and get a decent paying job, then go get yourself a sports car or something that can perform like one

i am sure rsx would be 10 times better than cl-s in corners, but striaght line??? no way

unless u put a higher final drive(a must), header, exhaust, intake and cams...then both will probably pull the same then

Not necessarily 100% true. The RSX is a lot lighter than the CL. I have read about RSX's doing high 13's and low 14's.

it is more of straight line vs handling..

RSX-S has advantage in handling, however CL-S may be faster on straight line.. I personally prefer handling over straight line power, hence I would pick RSX-S over CL-S. but other ppl may prefer straight line power.

But its also a matter of image. Although I love the 05+ RSX-S, its still IMO a bit of a rice mobile. More of a teenagers car. Why not also look at a Civic Si. Just a quick as the RSX but with an LSD. Not to mnetion less money.

Those are fun cars, but they get uncomfortable fast IMO. I wouldn't have one as a daily driver. Maybe I'm just too used to my old legend and my TL.

The insurance on an RSX would be quite a bit more than your CL as well....but seriously, you shouldnt post anymore, all you're threads are the same. Not that you'll read this, because you never post again in your threads, you simply start new ones with the same topics.

if you want to live in high rpms on daily drives, because of lack of torque in the RSX then go ahead. The cl-s is so much more car, and you will be facing a major downgrade. If you want power, good build and a little luxury, grab a leftover LS2 GTO for the price of a new RSX.

my modded TL-P is dead even with a 05 RSX-S with intake , lightweight wheel and i guess the 6-spd will kill the RSX

Pure Adrenline's TL-S can go with a lightly modded S2000 dead even, but S2000 handles like a dream, so my vote go for the S2000 too

i heard the 07 S2000 will have 260hp, one of my customer got it after his 04 got stolen

IMHO bigger car that is faster and very comfortable is better than smaller car that is slower and not as comfy

Really. To be downright honest, go get a civic Si. Anyone that could justify getting an RSX-S right now over the new Civic Si has lost their minds. Its an amazing vehicle. Personally, I believe that if they really wanted to, the Civic Si could've been a TSX coupe. Its that impressive. Go drive a fully loaded one before you make your decision. I dont think it'll disappoint you.

Oh, and one more thing, when I was stock, I raced a 05 RSX-S 0-90, it was pretty even, I maybe pulled 3-4ths a length on him to 90? It definitely wasn't a kill or anything. They're pretty fast. If we had kept going, I probably would've pulled hard on him... except maybe not due to the infamous type-s fourth gear of slowness

Sorry about the double post. Can't edit after 5 minutes

i traded in my RSX-S for a TLP.

the RSX-S had a 6 Speed manual. i had V2 intake, DC headers, and a Tanabe Catback exhaust.. i was losing my friends 01 TLP.

when i got my 4 Speed TLP, i got pulleys, headers, exhausts, intake, and my intake manifold port and polished.. and im beating any bolt-on previous gen Civic SI's, crxs, celicas, rsx-s, even 99 Maxima 5speeds.

plus my TL's definitly got alot more comfort and little luxuries that makes me feel a lot happier than i did back when i had the RSX.

i stock type-s RSX has a top speed of 120. you woulda kept going when the RSX has hit its limit.

plus you can probably push your car alittle past 100 on third gear and once your in fourth, you'll still keep cruising all the way to 145-150mph.

Well, I was exaggerating about 4th gear. I was all alone at 4am driving back to chapel hill monday morning and had no problem getting her up to 135. What a great way to start your morning!
