So the dealer takes it back. Now they have to sell a used car on a lot of NEW cars. The buyer wants a discount and the dealer knows that. So they'll factor that in. Maybe find someone to take over the lease.

You're definitely in the long haul with this one.....cars depreciate the most in the first year, getting out of a lease 4 months in or so is going to cost a nice little sum (probably in the $4k-$5k area).
Don't know how Honda Finance works, not sure if they let you transfer leases (like completely out of your name)- so you can't be sued if the buyer of your car kills someone.

Go check out www.acura.com lease calculator ... lease for 33 months at 15K/year on RSX-S at MSRP (no options) is $407/month.
Edit: Also ... I put $0 up front ... which I am glad cause money in to a lease just a money pit.

The only way to find out is if you ask man.
Maybe they can put you in a 5 or 6 year loan to keep the payment close to what you have.
I know the interest would suck, but at least you’re not kicking yourself every day for driving a car you don’t like.
I got screwed in the bank book too.
I only owed about 5,000 on my 01.
After tonight I’m back up to a 15,000 dollar debt, but at least I will have the car I want.
I’ll pay it off in a year or two and be happy.
And I WILL be keeping this car for a while.
I had planned to keep the 01 for 5-6 years and would have if the 6-Speed never happened.

Dood, YOU ARE GETTING RAPED ON YOUR LEASE!!! 400+/mo!!!
Well, when I had my TL, it was a lease (I've since vowed to never lease again)
I paid about $260/mo for 32 months. That was at near MSRP.
phil2 pays like $250 for his RSX-S on a shorter lease term then you!!! You are getting raped HARD.
Either way, I ended up driving the TL for about 8-9 months, or 12,000 miles.
To get out of the lease, all I did was find out the "buy-out" price from the leasing company... and then trade the car in for as close to that as I could get.
The buy-out was about $24,000.... I traded it in for $22,000.
So cost me0 $2000 to get out of the lease. But in reality, it also cost me all the money I put down and all the crap that goes into "renting" a car. heh
Next time, buy the car... oh, and don't forget to NEGOTIATE THE PRICE!!!
$400 a month for a 33 mo RSX lease!!! OMG

Help me out guys ....
How do you figure I got hosed? Did you check out www.acura.com cost calculator?
Like I said ... I did 33 months, ZERO capital cost reduction (i.e. no money down), 15K miles per year ... I can get the exact cost, but I think I paid $500 under MSRP which is about $23K (spoiler included)
Do the math on the web site with the residuals it has and the rates on the 2002 RSX-S ...
Am I missing something?

The CL-S doesn't hold its value for shit (I would still lose money if I bought it), I hate keeping cars for more than 3 years (let alone 2)....so it makes sense for me to lease.
To get the finance payment I'm currently at on the Viper.....I would have had to put down over $30k. Now that I got bashed into, what would that have done to my resale value?

Leasing sucks, always pay cash !... if you can. Also try to pay as much as you can with credit card, then move the balance to a new intructory rate 0% card for 6 months. If you can't pay it off in 6 months, get another card and transfer again
