RSX replaced by Euro 5 door Civic Hatch?

Wonder if Acura would consider doing something like this? Offer the TSX for 4 door and the Euro Civic Hatch 5 door with TSX like interior upgrades + the 2.4 liter at 200hp or a turbo at 250hp with 6spd? Could this happen?

With rumors of the 2006 Civic Si pushing 200hp, the RSX is either dead or getting a major major makeover, in terms of content and where Acura wants to position it in the market. So it's either bye-bye RSX or hello 25K+ RSX.

Can I get mine as a 5 door Euro Civic?

Put in the TSX interior with a few luxury items with big engine or same engine as the Si.......the current 2 door RSX just won't cut it for me. It is just to tiny....Fun but, not practical like the previous Integra.

You can argue design cues or the way they tuned it, but the current RSX isn't functionally different from my third-gen Integra.

Think it makes sense for the rsx to now be based off the accord coupe platform.

I understand the 2 door 4 door issue ,but if they do this wouldnt this kind of infringe on the TSX...kind of like the altima, maxima at nissan?

Yes, there is that possibility. But it's either that or get rid of the RSX...

The RSX is going bye bye. Acura will not take the car anymore up market. And the fact that the 06' Civic will get 200hp 17s, a 6 speed and an LSD, is the writing on the wall.

what makes sense about htat? That'd be a dumb thing to do IMO. Would totally take away from what the car is suppose to be.

i actually like the rsx, and may look into buying one soon. I've driven two integras (albeit both were not GSRs) but nonetheless i wasn't imporessed with the quality of the interior. although both had leather, the interior seemed to similar to that of my old civic. The rsx I took a look at at the dealership, had by comparison a much better interior, more in keeping with Acura's upscale image. Dont get me wrong, the integras were nimble and sprightly, but maybe I just need to drive a GSR.

I hope Acura decides to keep the RSX. I guess it could use some more "daring" styling and a lil more power. Anyone here in the forum own one that can pass on any useful info about it?

If Honda in Japan/Australia dumps the Integra, but American Honda really does want Acura to continue having a 2+2 coupe, Acura could get a "RSX" that's really a short-wheelbase Accord Coupe derivative built in Ohio. It would basically be a new CL but maybe they would keep the RSX name.

It's all marketing, people.

As for the current Integra-based RSX, I don't see any reason for Acura to drop it unless they really do want to move upscale and leave entry-level aspirational buyers behind (a mistake I believe) OR the sales are so bad that importing them is just bad business.

Acura wil not spend resources to make this vehicle any more luxury than it is considering sales. The S is 24k and it is a tough sell. The TSX will get more power next year. And the RSX will go away. Cost simply don't justify returns for this car.

It would allow them to share a platform/make the car larger/ more powerful/ more upscale/ along the lines of a tsx brother. Whats the car supposed to be currently, an upclass civic? That has no place with the new si.

With the RSX gone, that would hint that an upscale coupe might be coming out soon (new CL ??)
