rockstar143's sh*tbox adventures thread
So, I have way too many cars to clutter up this fine high class place with any more vehicle specific whore threads...
figured I'd just make ONE where I share mymisadventures...
As it stands, right now...
I have my darling S2000, a NBP TL 6MT, 2015 Burban for the wifey...S4 Audi we both drive...date night car...an E320 Dank Wagon
for the bitches and a friends and family charity case rescue on a 96 Yukon...
E320 I bought with 145K miles...had to put in a tranny...fix a bunch of little shit...reverse engineered the electrical system and what gets
fried when you put a new battery in backward
...then made the fun youtube video with my buddy Brian and his "Paint Society" Youtube channel.

Yukon, sat for nearly 10 years...pumped up the old MIchelins, they held...new battery and alternator and she runs...
topped off coolant, did some brake work and she's almost driveable more than 2 miles from the house. Love retro OBS...
this is gonna be fun to fuck around with with the kids...2 sets of benches means party of 6 can go get dirty

Love the classic 90's blue interior. This thing is retro AF. Excited to see what it looks when you get a chance to work that detailing magic on it.
Also, that wagon looks so fucking cool. The matte green is amazing with the drop and monoblocks.

I'm really excited about it too...gonna clean it up first but with the hood and roof needing clear...I think we might be
doing something period correct to it. Love the damn thing...something very simple and classic about that chevy 350 sound and feel.
love you too, T...I do the same with your vehicular endeavors!
that was kinda the point of this thread...I figured I'll let sleeping dogs lie with the existing ones but we don't need a new ONE for every impulse buy I have.

The Malibu just doesn't cut it.

My wagon actually shakes pretty good at idle under load...I thought the mounts
all looked fine...maybe the balancer is going...who knows.
In my case, it was the N/A 2.4 diesel rattling away under the hood.

Not likely to be in another for a while, unless a unicorn steal on a W201 2.3-16 or Sportline, or a W123 wagon drops in my lap.

I've had my channel for a long time but it's garbage content and garbage editing

honestly though, Gus...Brian keeps pushing me to do more...he says I have the unlimited content
and personality to make it better. Part of me likes keeping it just some guy with a damn phone camera
and no perfect editing and music and add ons. We'll see, I have fun recording some stuff I do...
Thanks for the vote of confidence though...let's see what happens.
Latest adventure took me out to 15 miles west of US27 into no man's land...trying to be spontaneous
and carefree landed me with a flat, not tools and no way to drop spare about 40 miles from home on 15
year old dry rotted michelin's...if I had made it, I'd be a hero on a lovely adventure with the Mrs...instead
I ended up being a grumpy tired old man dealing with a lackluster AAA and having to call in a favor from
the bossman

Brother, the more I clean up and drive it the more I realize I will not be selling it.
I ordered some new Yoko Geo from DTD last night with their cyber monday rebate sales.
Went to my boss' house to test fit 31's and 32's because there was a set of 33's and 34's I
found locally but they had questionable tires and who knows wheels...in the end, I like the look
of the oem chevy wheel and I'm running out of wheel storage space
Opted for a 265/75/16which will put me at an inch bigger than it is now and they already look pretty meaty...at 32 I would need
to crank keys and both my boss and his son told me to stay away from that for a good ride. I almost
coughed up the money for K02 but for Florida I had 3 locals tell me they hated them on their cars here...
the Yoks look like highway kinda but are an AT...should make for a good balance of on road driving around
town and off road a little at the levy.

Shiettt...I did alright then!
Well, DTD had a good rebate...I could only get one set at a time to use it though so I got the Yukon tires...
if I love them I might try and get them in a 22" for the Burban too.
Took some better shots of the Wagon yesterday.
Man I love this thing.

The 'Bu is soon to need tires, Pilot Sport AS4, just shy of $1k
Love the AS3+ on the Flex & coworker has them on her C300, but they're discontinued for the AS4.
The Defenders on it now just aren't cutting it.

You don't need Pilot Sport tires on a Malibu lol. Especially not in a place that gets no snow or cold. Just get whatever's decent and cheap. We've had conti DWS on my wife's car before and the Ascent right now has Falken Ziex tires that are more than adequate for daily driving.

They're the Pilot Sport All-Season, we're on our 2nd set on the Flex & they're fantastic, especially in the Houston monsoons.
Was going to put a set on the Merc, but got a deal on Potenza RE980AS (also discontinued). Their successor is about the same cost as the Michelin, with a lower treadwear rating.
Not a big fan of Contis after the experience with the stock tires on the Merc (dead in 16k miles), but they were also run-flats

Don't need them now, so may look & see what other options may be out there. Car gets driven as spritiedly as is reasonable on public roads in an econo-shitbox.

Aren't the Pilot Sports only warrantied for 20K miles though? I had defenders on my work truck I think...and I thought they were okay.
Empty abandoned highway, now we know it's you. Wagon looks t1ts bro, love it.

although she drives the Audi almost every day now.

it's actually US27...no man's land high speed proving grounds.

Well, I realized I stopped sharing anything really because I didn't keep the cars long enough to make a thread for each and clutter this place up.
Figured this would be a good place for a one stop shop toilet bowl biohazard bag.
