Talking RimS

I recently purchased some 18' Lexani rims for my Acura TSX 06. I was wondering can 20's fit on my car and is it better to have 18 inch Lexani's than no name 20 inch rims. My best friend and I have a bet and he thinks that the name brand doesn't matter with rims it's the size that matters. My Acura brother and sisters, what do u think?

Since you arent worried about your car looking good with purchasing Lexani's, I would've saved the money to buy knock offs.

What size tire?Offset?Are you dropped?

So how do you know who wins the bet? Let AZ tell the answers? It's not like this is a factional question/answer.

I think you should go with 28's

Well I can tell you from experience the brand matters because some bend easier than others and the bigger you go the more likely you are to bend your rims.

Ask the guys in the TSX forum. As an owner of a 2007 TSX, 20s generally do not work since a higher offset is required for FWD Hondas (and the S2000 ... it has a crazy offset in the rear!). Not only are there issues with fitment, there are issues with durability -- hit a good sized pothole in Trenton, Jersey City, Seacaucus, Morristown, or anywhere in the Tri-State area (I have family there ... so I know the state of decay NJ roads are like ...) and you're going to pay mint to fix your 20s. 18s are usually a very good compromise between looks / practicality.

But seriously ... chrome? Most Lexani I think are cast rims -- no more durable than a no name brand. If you're talking about BBS, OZ (forged), Volk, Centerline, or Work (forged) ... different story. Forged rims are far more durable than cast rims.

I was thinking about B.B.S but those type of rims have black and nothing on my car is black. I was trying to cordinate the color of my car with the rims. I didn't do anything to my car yet(Which is a shame since I purchased it in August 06). I felt the first step should be getting rims than a body kit. Thanx to all for your reply and special thanx to Derrick for sharing with me much needed info. I will take your advace next time I want to purchase some rims. Maybe 20's the next time around. LOL.

What the hell does the type of car you drive have anything to do with the opinion you have?

If he was driving an Acura you would actually take his statement into consideration and put smaller rims on your car?

For The Acura 52mm offset, 20" x 8.5", and hubcentric tires. I was wondering would I have to modify my car in anyway. Can I just put the tires on and be fine.

thanx to all who helped me but I have another quick question. Will my brakes work with rims? I was told that Acura's come with different brakes than other cars and I looked at my brakes on my car and they are kind of big.
