Review on 2005 Subaru STi
After having the car for a week let me share my feelings about my new baby car...
First, let's start with the pros:
1.) The obvious, 300hp and unbelievable handling... gotta love it.
2.) Rev limiter and I/C spray are tons of fun and very useful.
3.) Manual traction control is off the hook.
4.) The interior is not bad looking at all... love the red stiching on the steering wheel and hand brake.
5.) Headlight adjuster is very handy.
6). HIDs with auto off.
7.) Great exterior look, love the wing and the subtle body kit.
8.) Love the STi logo found in many different places around the car.
9.) Nice Brembo brakes and BBS rims... not to mention the bad ass Bridgestones that come stock with this baby.
10.) Seats look great, although not that comfy though.
11.) Virtually no turbo lag.
12.) Spacious trunk.
13.) Cool clear brake light located between trunk and spoiler.
14.) Grabs peoples attention... plus its not that common on the streets.
Now let's go to the cons:
1.) Crappy speakers...
2.) The shifting in this car is not that great. You feel a little lost sometimes while shifting... I am currently waiting for the STi short-throw shifter to be installed in my car.
3.) I don't like the sound of the engine when its idle...
4.) The shift knob stands a little too high.
5.) The performance brakes results in tons of brake dust too... black rims all the time.
6.) The cup holders are horrible.
7.) Miss the home link system from my previous TL.
8.) No button on the remote to open the trunk keyless.
9). Need to take off the entire headlight assembly to change the parking light? WTF?
10.) Green light from console doesn't really match with the red light from the gauges. Plus the green light looks kinda crappy.
11.) Red gauges are cool for a couple minutes and then starts to be not that great. It kinda hurts my eyes for some reason.
12.) Rear leg room is small....
Even with all these cons, this car still kicks massive ass! I love this car and everyday that I drive it I just keep loving it more and more... if you are thinking about getting this car don't wait any longer! You will not regret it...

. I only have plans to change the exhaust for now...
I have thought about this car a million times. Is it possible to swap the spoiler with a regular WRX spoiler?
How is the noise level on the highway?
From what I hear, the turbo in the car is super durable and made to be abused.
I like the car in silver/gray with the gray wheels.

You swap out the trunk in order to change the big wing.
I love the car in stock form. but the team i autoX is a 90% subie team and there are now about 8 STi owners...
BE CAREFUL IN SO CAL WITH AN STI...the cops tend to pic you out of a crowd and harass and ticket you just because fo how your car looks.
lots of people in my club are now looking to get rid of the spoiler.

Want one so bad. Nice pictures.
How has your mileage been so far?
I am kind of worried about the upkeep over time on that car (tires/brakes etc). I really think i need to NOT drive it ever so I never have to know what I am missing.

Why does everyone like to quote 0-60 times? It gives you only a vague idea of the car's capabilities. I think 1/4 mile times and trap speeds are much more useful. Nobody doubts the STI's capabilities from a stop but 300hp at the crank (~250WHP??) is matched by ALOT of cars out there and highway runs would be much closer. From a roll, a stock STI would get owned by an E55. Now, with that said, throw in a few turns and watch that Subie tear just about anything shy of a ZO6 a new one!
