Recall on a used car

Looking at a used car that's about 10 years old. From Carfax report, looks like I'll be the 4th owner. The car was also have been registered in 3 different states.

Looks good, runs well, no issues, no CEL, etc, etc.

There were recalls issued by the manufacture. The recall notice when out 8 years ago. Looking at the recall notice, there were no restrictions on mileage, or year.

Do recalls expired?

My question is, how will I know if the recall was done?

I would think you could just take it to a dealer & they can check via the VIN.

When I was searching for an RL, the Carfax indicated recall work done.

It's one of the reasons why cars have VIN numbers.

Use it.

Even though he responded with a complete wise-ass tone... Moog is right. Use the VIN to check it through a variety or sources. The dealer should also be able to run it to see if the recall was completed.

Easy peasy..

He's just reading it with these guys' voices and they are terminal wise-asses (not that there's anything wrong with that):

Some recalls do have a mileage limit or a year limit but those are kind of rare.
