Read please

So Im on my way back to my house lastnight when I decided to stop by a big car dealership I used to work at. I was just browsing around looking at some cars when I noticed a car someone just traded in that same day. A 1994 AUDI S4 QUATTRO TURBO! I COULD NOT BELIEVE THE SHAPE THIS CAR WAS IN, INSIDE AND OUT! Not a scratch, blemish, smudge or spit on this thing. The outside is a beautiful pearl white and the inside is all black PERFECT leather with 68,020 on the odometer! Manual transmission (thats only how they came) and as stock as stock can be. They have 227hp and 258 lbs. of torque at 1950 RPMs. 0-60 in 6.2 and high 14's in the 1/4. They weigh 3800 lbs! Its hard to go back in years from a 1999 TL to a 1994 AUDI, but what do you think? Those cars are harder to find than a chupacabra screwing a goat. Also I know they are also expensive to fix, but they do have an excellent write up all over the web no matter where you go. Ohhhhhhhh I dont know.

Audi makes some very unreliable cars and its very expensive to fix from what I've heard from owners. TL FTW

the audi will drive like it's on rails, it will pull hard and put a huge smile on your face. That is of course when your mechanic is not in it. It's a 94, it's not getting any younger, and things will start failing. Do yourself the favor and stay away from it.

UNLESS

you can afford to use it as a weekend/fun car all the while keeping your TL as a daily driver.

Keep TL. I wouldn't get a mid-90's Audi.

I saw a chupacabra screwing a goat when I was in the drive through liquor store getting my second bottle of JD.

Keep the TL. That’s what the chupacabra told me.

^ you like the audi for how clean it is and how little mileage it has. both of those things which go away when the car becomes your DD

If you crave turbo-boost power delivery like the milk off of momma's breast, and are willing to spend bizarre, unpredictable thousands of $$$ on a 15-year-old car maintaining it, then perhaps.

Otherwise, give that S4 a polite kiss on the cheek and walk away my friend, walk away......

+whatever for the TL

It makes sense as a weekend/hobby car, but not a DD. If you want a new DD, and AWD plus power is the key, get a Legacy GT. More reliable and less on your wallet.

The thrill of the great driving experience will be drained by the regular, unscheduled cash outlays over time.

This from a former VW/Audi driver long ago. My wife begged me not to buy my last Audi and I still remember paying for more in repairs the first year than I had paid for the pretty little thing.

Others said walk away...I hope you ran like hell. Just my opinion.

I LOVE audi's always have, always will, but if you want an S4 get the 2000-2002 ones, 2.7 V6 Twin Turbo with a 6-speed will make any grown man smile, trust me, best body every made, and the best engine to tune

In my opinion German cars were made to last longer then american or japanese, but with that comes maintenance costs, but if you do it on time and do it right, your not going to break a neck doing it

so its up to you man, seriously do what you think is right, and what you wont regret later in life

S4 for fun but yes Audi makes shitty quality cars although they are slowly getting less shittier.

+812390812310 on keeping the TL.

I'm not to waste my time discussing your viewpoint on this one, but I will say your generalization is way off target based on current times.

to the OP, since you are looking at an older model, I'd keep the TL.

I would get the audi before I would get a TL but that's just me. And a good shape audi like that is hard to find. People on forums over exadurate with the maintenance costs and all that shit. I mean it does cost more money to maintain it but if you do it on time there should be no problems. All my friends have audi/vw cars, all of them just rip their cars and in the last 4-5 years that they had their cars, none of them had anything drastic go wrong. And they are all cars driven all year round from -50C temp to +40C temp and they are still going strong.
