RainX
Alright so I bought RainX Original spray and used it on my windshield a few days ago before it started to rain. I don't really see any real difference, it claims to repel water..hmm..dunno. What do you guys think, should the RainX wax be better to use or am i just wasting my time with it? If its a waste i'm just gonna return it and get my money back..lol.
Also another question. I bought the RainX antifog stuff to use for my aunt's 03 Toyota Camry cuz that car fogs up so fast for some reason. I tried it and drove it the next day and it still fogs up, although it wasn't as much as it normally was. Is there a better way to apply this on the windows? I just use put some on a paper towel and wiped the inside windshield with it and then wiped off any haze that showed up with a clean dry paper towel.

RainX works excellent...saves me from using my wipers half the time.
Try using a microfiber towel & really polishing the surface...I spray on, then wipe off with a Bounty towel(usually leaves a wet film on the window). As I go around the car, when I get back to the first window, I use a microfiber towel to do the final polish. Works every time.

How'd this thread get moved here? Shouldn't it be in the Wash & Wax forum?

Also, where do you find the zaino stuff? I"ve never seen that in stores before

With the wax, it is harder to get the haze off of the windshield but I think it lasts longer. The towel that you use (to remove the haze after applying it) has to be really wet and takes a lot of scrubbing or you'll be left with waxy streaks on the glass surface.
^ I wouldn't start out using steel wool on my glass unless the car was 5 or 6 yrs old & needed a refresh...
And, I keep a bottle of the spray stuff in my car and use it on clean/dirty windows...the stuff still works great either way. I've used it on previous cars during road trips with filthy windows, worked fine...

I used to use RainX but I hated how much you had to rub to get the film/haze off. I just use Invisible Glass now to clean the windshield and it must have some residue it leaves because water streams off and beads/walks up the glass at 35+ mph.

You have to *THROUGHLY* clean the windows before applying those products. And your windshield has to be in good shape i.e. not seriously pitted. Your window must be SUPER clean, all oil/road grime has to be off the window for the product to work.
I'd use rubbing alcohol, or *good* glass cleaner with ammonia in it. Go over the window twice then put the rain-x on after the window has been drying for 10-15m.
It's a huge difference with it, then without it. You don't even need to turn your wipers on when you apply it correctly.

Windows have to be CLEAN. I try to keep ammonia products away from the car cleaning stuff b/c the rest of the fam doesn't get that you can't use it on the INSIDE with tinted windows. A good alcohol based cleaner like the Eagle One 20/20 works just as good. You have to make sure and let the RainX dry then rub the excess off. I have never had to put that much effort into it like everyone is suggesting, it comes off just fine with a microfiber towel.
I use an identical (tho not the same one) to put it on with.I put it on my mom's windsheild and she was complaining cuz she saw me doing it. She said it smeared enough, she didn't want any extra junk on there.
A couple days later it rained and she was like "That stuff you put on there is GREAT! Do it everytime!"

Is it necessary for me to wet the towel before i start to take out all the haze from the window or is it better to just use a dry towel to remove all the haze that forms?
