a highly modified 2-3 year old car with a ton of miles is a clear sign for trouble.
i would not do it if i were you. once those turbos go, it'll be worth a lot to repair...

Price seems too high to me... I agree with 3PUTT, this car doesn't seem worth it.

If the turbos blow, you get bigger ones duh. The price is pretty fair given the high mileage, but personally I would look for one with lower mileage even if costs a little more.

I am very familiar with these cars (from a reliability standpoint). If you find a low mileage one without any mods for that price, do it. If you want a headache of a car that is a constant drain of your resources, buy the car in question. The bi-turbo S4 is a hell of a car, but not the most reliable in the world. You will, however, have more fun in that car compared to almost anything Acura produces. You could swap out the S4 turbos for those of the RS4's (K04's I think), tune it and run 350 awhp and 400 lb ft of torque very easily.

I checked out the car yesterday, very clean and well taken care of. I was wrong about the mods, the car is bone stock, only has MTM springs on it and has been lowered using these springs. Driving the car was fun, i had it for about an hour with dealer plate, and that hour was one hellova an hour. Car is auto with SS mode just like the TLS but also has the steering mounted controlls. How do you guys think the resale market is for a high millage S4? Do you think it would be easy for me to sell it in a few months or so ?

Have you check Consumer Reports on those cars? They seem to have all sorts of problems especially electrical.

^^ ya i did my research last night, the car drives good and looks good on paper and in person, but it sux that they have so many problems late in the game (millage). I called off the deal, i think i did good um happy with my TLS and S55 for now. Plus the car is only as big as a Jetta from the inside , and the way i drive my car with the seat all the way back, i doubt there would be anyone who would be able to sit behind me. It felt like a civic from the inside room wise, built quality was very good and so was fit and finish, but what the hell will i do with all that if the motor breaks down every mile, or so i heard from many reviews on the net.

Even with 80K miles a 2002 S4 in good condition at $12K would be giving it away. Look on AutoTrader to see what they are selling for, there are some '00 S4 with over 100K miles selling for $14K and up.
