Fuhh...did the guy work at a driving range?!?! Those are pretty intense...I have a little one on my hood, and roof. Other than that, she's straight.

I just realized if you red stripe the type S it'll look like there's no red anymore since the chrome bezel under the red lens is what makes the look.

Nah, he lived on a country road haha so he hit a dear, the antler hit the hood in two places unfortunately. No scratches just a couple dimples.

I'm sure the ones on the doors were door dings though.

I also realized the previous owner was a Rocket Scientist. Like, legit. I know cause the splash screen when I start the car up says so.

LMAO...so a rocket scientist with an inferiority complex then.
Poor deer!

I actually don't like any of the tails where the brake area is clear...they look pink when the led's light up!

What? Nightshade the red pieces, leave the chrome untouched? It would make the chrome pop even more just like it does with the base red stripes...

I'm not joking. I doubt I'll do anything with the set of tails I've opened already. I'm happy with the red stripes I've got on. So if you want the bezels or any of the diffusers LMK. Pay for s/h and we can work out the rest in sexual favors.

Well!

Picked up the car. Really happy with the results. He said he found a few other small dents that he took out that weren't even worth mentioning. Awesome work, awesome shop, I'm ecstatic. There is NO evidence of repair. Now she needs a buff/wax/aspec

For those 3 main dents, the total was under $200. I think it was a great deal

Thanks everyone!

New front bumper and front and rear aspec lips ordered, should arrive tomorrow. Then I'll be getting my bumper painted in the next couple weeks, install the front lip and all that just like last time! I had originally wanted to get the bumper painted sooner but my painter is out of town for two weeks. At least this will give me time to work on the headlights and possibly some other lighting mods... As usual "while i'm at it"

In the meantime I may throw the rear aspec on since I'll have it sitting anyway

She's coming together.

I had the same question, so weird. The front and rear were available, but no sideskirts. Honestly I'm not too disappointed, if I come across of used ones I'll prob get them and have them painted, but tbh, I wouldn't mind no aspec sides and finding a way to make splash guards work. I kind of want to try it out. I like how they look!

Watching out for good deals on parts, only buying 6MT TL's, and doing most labor myself usually puts me in a decent position. I can't pass up a good deal.

Which brings me to my next point;

Did a test fit this weekend. Not sure how I feel about them yet. 2016 Accord Sport wheels, 19x8 +45

Q always comes out ahead.
He buys cheap, fixes up and at the very worst, breaks even...but then you factor in enjoyment and still wins.

looking forward to all the progress....again haha.

i'm not a fan at all of running other OEM wheels on a different car and don't really care for that particular design or look. but in the end all that matters is if you like it. i just think there are many many wheels that look better and can give you something that stands out.

EDIT: just saw in the other thread that you would need a spacer with these...that's a definite no go haha. if you like a wheel that much to need spacers it better be a forged/rare wheel haha (but still interested to see what you decide)

This. They are a bit too "polished/classy" for the sporty TL IMO. Unless the "VIP" look is the direction you're trying to go. I could see those wheels looking good on a bagged 3G...

I'm not a big fan of wheels that have a color, like the black, that has more clearcoat/are shinier than the car they are on. Lol

I'm pretty sure for the cost of these wheels I could have just about any other OEM wheel I wanted. They look awesome on the Accord, and I like how the 18" look on the TL, but the black/silver is what I don't like here. With the KBP car, it didn't look right to me

I knew when I was buying them that they may not work out, but wanted to see them anyway. these were take offs with 20mi on them. I'm pretty sure I'd rather have aspecs though.

you bought them to test fit?!?! You must have gotten them for $400...gonna flip for $1000.

Nice!

yeah, they're not bad, but not right for the car...since everyone is not liking the finish, how about a uniform gunmetal powdercoat/paint?

shoot, rattle can the faces with gunmetal plastidip...split 5 spoke, might look like a modern aspec!

You're definitely right about that! Haha I got them for a good deal but not THAT good!

I think a color change would help a lot, but one of my other main concerns is the ride quality of 19's. I usually prefer 18's, and if these looked good and were easy to throw on I would've possibly kept them. But the fact that they need tires and spacers and possibly a color change makes them pretty much not worth it...The cost would exceed a set of rims I would've really wanted like Varrstoen ES7's or something along those lines. I just really liked how they look on the new Accord tbh and wondered what they might look on the TL

The hunt continues!

Ahhhh. They're sitting for now, but I'll likely list them for sale this week. Maybe use the money for coils. I kinda wanna jump up to the new Teins, but its hard to ignore the price tag and quality I got from the Advance so far.

Two of my waffle's tires had bad wear on them and I didnt like the Kumho's that came on the car to begin with so I decided to replace all four. I'll get them mounted and we'll do an alignment, GMSFM swap, and throw on my Jpipe since I got new hardware in from Ritchie this week.

Just put in my order for new tires, stock size 235/45/17 Hankook's. Under 380 shipped for a set of 4 all seasons from discount tire direct.

Hmmm...I feel you on that...
if I had to replace my suspension, I'd go with Tein Basis...rode on some the other day and they ride so nicely...and only $5xx

If I needed another suspension right this minute, yes I would. $500 bucks and the way that car rode the other night is a no brainer. I've literally adjusted my rebound 3 times in 7 years.

Honestly, I don't think you can go wrong with any Teins, but if I was gonna get them I'd get the Street Advance at least, just to have the option and since they're roughly only $150 more IIRC. Originally they were $850 when I bought them two TL's ago, so since they've dropped in price they're almost a no brainer.

Im just not sure that the Flex are worth the $1000 price tag. Plus this time I think I'd get new tophats as well. Street Advance may be the way to go. I'd like to go with the middle since the Basis are the most basic and the Teins are the most expensive.

We will see!

^^ i love my tein flex...i got them for about 940 shipped and they come with top hats so that saves that cost. i flipped my oem top hats so i made that cost difference up.

plus they give you full adjustment and i was able to give the preload i wanted. they offer better daily driving comfort because the preload is independent of shock height, meaning no matter what height you go the preload is the same whereas all non-preload adjustable coilovers get harsher as you go lower

all tein coilovers are solid though and you can't go wrong, but i would buy the flex again in a heartbeat!

Post those sport wheels on DA. They will be gone in a day. You can get a pretty penny for them too.

Shoot, I've been thinking about getting rid of mine and picking up something else.

Chrome Twankys!

Sockr1...that hasn't been my experience at all, man. I had buddy club and megan racing on different cars and both were separate pre-load (you can still get her pregnant with that!) and they were both very sport oriented and relatively harsh. The Tein SS and H&R street performance I have now are much more simple to adjust (able to raise/lower with wheels on the car if you're nimble with your arms) and ride a lot more forgivingly.

Just my experience.

I didn't realize the advance were only a buck fitty more...definitely the way to go. I actually currently have my 04 base tophats on the car because the base ones wouldn't go over the koni I put on the base TL...so I left well enough alone. I don't really feel a difference at all though...
