PUTTING 20's ON MY ACURA TSX?

I just bought a 2004 Acura TSX - black on beige leather and im looking for your suggestions. Here are some problems that im scared to face once i buy the rim (btw im going to buy them tommorow). I will be driving this car a lot, 500 kms a week to b exact and im scared of many things i may face including:

1.) Car will look jacked up like a monster truck
2.) rims r toooo massive
3.) going to be hard to handle & smoothness of ride is ruined
4.) handling going to b so bad
5.) have to change tires every year
6.) have to do repairs once rims r off

ALSO, i live in toronto so summer's only 6 months i'll take em off for winter

PLEASE LET ME KNOW PEOPLE!!!!! I want to get the rims ASAP

18's TOPS on the TSX...maybe 19's, but that's pushing it. And once you upgrade the wheels, you NEED to drop the car. Anyways, JMHO.

Actually, 19's and 20's look pretty decent:

Curious as to what you were basing your opinion on synth...

18's are perfect....19's a bit much, but doable...but 20's are a bit overkill imo.

Just on cars in general or just on a TSX?

Admitted, the ride quality will suffer, but you can't deny the two cars in the thread I linked look pretty good...

^ agreed, those 20s look kinda silly on a small car like the TSX.

Stick with 19s.

20s are fine for a show car, and maybe a lightly driven car on smooth roads, but if you drive 500km a week forget it. Stick with 18s.

Yea, it has to be done right. In fact, this is the only TSX I've seen where that was the case:

To the OP, do a search in the TSX section for the user "tsxondubs" to find more info. I know he used coilovers to lower it, but im not sure about the height he set them at.

i'd say 8.5 in front and 10.5 in the rear with 3 inch lip. that'd be dope.

seriously, although that would look tight, i wouldn't do it just cus u drive so much. the big wheels would kill your mileage especially 20's. i would go 19" tops, and light 19's at that. that means $$. ronjon 18's are light as hell and would look good without breaking yo wallet.

If you cut the brake lines (all around) it'll give you the extra clearance to fit a 20x9.5"+ rim in the back.

Dude,

Don't do 20s in Toronto unless you're only going to use them for shows. 401 / DVP is always under construction -- you're going to bend a rim on one of those craters of potholes in the construction areas.

You're going to spend money on suspension upgrade (20s and no drop = :ghey: ) and huge money on tires. Save your money on other mods -- 18s are way more fitting for a TSX. You're getting no love here on the AZ ...

8.5" rim on a TSX? Good luck finding an offset that will make it work. And please ... no gangsta rims (ie American Racing chrome ... )

Living in Toronto, and having to fix two bends cuz of potholes, stick with 19's... I can only imagine how 20's would have been, since 19's with the 35 series, in my opinion was taking a little to thin...

As a daily driver i'd do 18's, but 19's would work as long as you're careful. If your area is bad then 20's will be more of a pain. Sometimes i look at people i know and watch the way they have to drive on their 20's and it's awful. Getting from point a to b becomes a real workout and obstacle course.

Seriously, this is the internet and the place is crawling with many e-fools. And as much as i hate to believe it, some of them reside in this forum. Saying something like cut your brake lines may be a joke or may be fact, but you should always put a disclaimer. I'm not hating on you, I go to costco, i'm just looking out for you.

Screw the 20s, and go 24s with 10 profile tires. You'll be ballin'!
