they're asking blue book value..
unless they kept all maintenance records and there are no imperfections at all,
if not...
i would ask them to come down.
i'd offer 23 and take it from there...

I think Saturn went as well, didn't they?
And I'd negotiate it down, but try to get on it. These things will be super-rare by the time you sell it, and if you take care of it you can get a pretty penny for it.

JDM Laser Fogs!
I test drove one when they fist came out, and liked it. Thought it had good grunt and the interior was decent. Lower the price a bit and you're set. Good luck, post pics!

It's just that Saturn and Hummer didn't quite disappear yet as their dealer networks are still in tact. The Pontiac dealers seemed to just offload their inventory to other GM dealers and vanished!
To answer the OP's question... I'd look to get a few thousand knocked off. As was mentioned it's BB pricing and the company is out of business, so support down the road will be harder to find the further away from 2010 you get...

Wow a quick look on Autotrader says that price is close.
Now granted what they list it for and what it sells for are two different things.
It's a great car. Ashburner has a GXP if you want some opinions.

I'd prefer a G8 GXP myself but the GT is not a bad car itself, especially with bolt-on mods.
Price is a little high. Agree with asking for 23-34k. It's not a GXP, after all.

I wouldn't have the G8 for the same reason I wouldn't have the Camaro: No factory nav option. Seriously GM, what is so hard about having a nav option? You can get nav in a Fit for god's sakes!!!

navigation is for sissies! real men look at a road map before going where they dont know where they are going!

the G8 GT is far from a heap. It was built in australia (rebadged holden commodore) on the zeta chassis. its not your typical white trash pontiac. decent build quality and with $1500 you could be well over 400 crank horsepower in the GT. i would know, i owned one. my major gripe with the GT was the fact that it did not have a manual option, no nav and was lacking severly in the luxury department (cheap leather, seats werent full power, etc). fast as all hell though and all i had was an intake, catback, and 91 octane tune. nearly 50/50 weight dist, independent front and rear supension, nice interior for a pontiac in all honesty, 360hp V8 with a 6speed auto (same trans as vette), active fuel management for decent MPG out of a V8 (i saw 24mpg on the HWY), tons of backseat room if you have a kid, and surprisingly insurance was cheaper then my TL-S. wasnt bad in the winter either with winter tires. performance wise it should be on everyones list looking for a sedan.
so before you go calling a car a heap, do some research. the G8 GT/GXP is a great vehicle and would put a hurtin on 90% of the cars on this site.

Nom Nom Nom Nom
I cannot wrap my mind around why they do that.

I dunno, ever since getting my TSX with nav back in 04 I've been spoiled and having it is a prerequisite for any car I am considering. I know the G8 is a great car, thats my point. They ruined it for me by not offering nav. I will never buy another car without it....

Someday, an RS6 Avant+
I say talk them down. Point out it's not a GXP, the seats are not full power, etc... Be sure all defects are noted and that may get them down. See if that works.

Holden will hopefully resurrect itself as a Chevy someday soon.

well. i did it.
i got it for 24k.
i think is a good price...the car has 20k on it...and its IMMACULATE.
white(which is beautiful in person), premium and sport packages except for sunroof which i never use anyway..
19inch wheels. it has tint all around.
looking forward to it.
i'm gonna keep the TL a second car for as long as it lasts...the transmission is slipping.
