Pics from one heck of a meet!! (56k no way)

So, this past Saturday, after lots of organization, a bunch of enthusiats got together to go driving.

A sweet Paxton Supercharged Viper

Unfortunatley, he left before we all headed out to drive-so, I didn't get to see it run.

Tony, a really cool guy, brought this new toy up

We talked a bunch and drove together for a while until he got scared of by the Staties. I guess there were some skeletons in his closet!

More pics of the drive leaving Austin

We ended up driving out to Blanco to have lunch at cool little cafe. Man, we stirred up that town!!

Everyone just swarmed the cars!!

A couple of last group photos

We started of with about 40-45 cars. As the day went on, we lost peeps here and there. At the end of the day, myself and a few other cars went out to dinner and called it a night. It was a blast. There is nothing like cruising at 120 with a pack of 40 cars!!

Unfortunatley, the trip didn't come without damage. I got behind a motorhome who decided it would be fun to kick up all of the crap that was on the side of the road. The entire bumper was covered with little chips. Kinda like this:

The bumper will have to be resprayed, and the windshield replaced. But, other than that, no-one got hurt and all went well!!

We were kinda disapointed because there was a guy that was going to bring his Diablo. There were also supposed to be a couple of Ferraris. I guess that the early morning clouds scared them off. Still, it was an awesome meet none-the-less!!

Ha, that is Kurt from the TSX forum. He is actually the one who clued me in on the drive. It was surprising how well he kept up. Granted, he couldn't match the raw acceleration, but he could hang with us as we cruised.

I see it now, thanks! Lots of glare on it and beside the Vette it looks 10 feet tall, so it didn't register.

That sure is one heck of a meet.

What was your impression of the Elise? Is it really that small in person?

I have actually driven one and am on the list to get one. Are they small-YES!! For me, it is defin a squeeze to get in-I am 6'2" 235lbs. If there is a passenger, then I will touch shoulders and hit there leg when shifting. I cannot wear shoes while driving because the pedals are so close (which is a very good thing!). To get in, you better have the top off. I tried to get in with the top on and had to contort myself pretty bad-remember there is about a foot, foot and a half worth of body that you have to crawl over.

But, once you are inside, it is the most fun that I have ever had in a car-even better than drivin g the Viper. This thing just sticks to the pavement. It is harsh, loud with the sports exhaust and tiny. It doesn't make any sense and that is what I love about it!

That GT3 was awesome!! I was lucky enough to get behind it at a light. Well, needless to say, afcter the light turned, we both hit it. That car is just amazing in the twisties!! We took it all the way up to about 160 before braking hard enough to warp the rotors on the Viper for a turn. (no, there was no traffic around and it was a long straight stretch of backcountry road).

hmmm, I am going to have to try to find mine, not sure where they are.

But yeah, that meet was fun. The next drive, February 20th, will also have a poker run to it. Should be fun!!
