Photoshop: 2013 Lexus IS
well the front is a compilation is the IS-F, CT200, LS600h and the GS concept. i dont think the production base model IS will look like my rendering...but i think somewhere along the lines, whether a lexus rendering, or production sport package - yes.

Take it from a real graphic designer, your work isn't THAT good. I'm not doubting you got those reactions, but I can tell instantly from your renderings that they're in fact that, renderings. You need some work on your perspective and reflections, but otherwise for a novice it's nice work. By no means would a pro be confused thinking it was a photo though.

and as someone who is not a graphic designer, i focus more on the core automotive design than the post "touch-up" work, such as reflections and lighting effects. so yes, that regard is lacking. but considering that a majority of people (apparently) cant see beyond side sills and other accessory changes, whats the point of spending the additional man hours on things such as reflections if my audience isnt going to notice.
i dont really consider myself a novice - i have an ivy league architectural degree and have been designing cars and homes since i was older enough to hold a crayon.

oh for sure a pro wouldnt consider that a photo. most pros wouldnt consider most pro renderings to be photos.

wow u did that yourself? nice. i used to do photoshop forgot a lot of shit and too lazy now to spend time on it. tho im no fan of lexus, btw did u no lexus sales were down 40% june compared to 2010 and toyota down 25% as well. nissan gained 16% tho in sales. honda suffered too.
Since we're kinda on the topic of the OP's credibility and background, I guess I'll add mine as well. Though I'm impressed with the photoshop skills (and I still don't like the finished photoshop version), I didn't know you need an advanced architectural degree from an ivy league school to use photoshop like this. I'm a noob at best at computers but I think I can photoshop better than the OP can. I mean...I used to design flyers, brochures, advertisements, programs, billboards, etc....for a leading health care provider and a community volunteer organization a few years back. and I barely graduated from high school. and never once did I brag/show off to my friends, co-workers, clients, etc. I let my work do the talking.
point is, anybody can learn how to use photoshop.

I agree. An ivy league education isn't needed to use an illustration program...Didn't say that...Just saying that I had a background in design. The medium/software used just so happens to be photoshop. I posted here - got slammed - pushed into a corner -and was forced to defend myself. That's all...didn't even initiate it.

It's "ok"...
......the front looks out of perspective.
From a design standpoint.....let's just say I hope the next gen looks nothing like the chop.
No offense....just my opinion.
