Photoshoot: Turbo e36, Stanced, Varrstoen 2.2.0, TEAL

I met up with a buddy of mine on Sunday to get some photos of his new setup. Wheels are Varrstoen 2.2.0 17x9 et12 all corners with spacers for more poke ( 12mm in the front=et0 and 15mm rear= et-3)and 215/40 tires. The fenders are rolled and pulled. This color combo is not for everyone, but I must admit it looks pretty sick in person. Photos are taken with Canon XSi; rolling shots are Sigma 10-20 and stills are Canon 50mm f/1.8.

That could be one sick E36 if he went for a clean look instead of whatever that is.

Wow, that is a super clean e36. It's too bad he ruined it with the Fake TE37's. Had potential.....

I hate being "that guy", too. You should have gotten the SRT8.

Anyway.. he shot some photos, so... I guess it qualifies.

Great pics. I love the rolling shots as well. What lens were you using?

His car is not for everyone. The spoiler is some rare OEM wing and the wheel color is definitely different. He will probably powdercoat them another color or switch to an 18'' setup down the road. Like I said, it definitely looks much better in person.

Rolling shot are Sigma 10-20 and stills are Canon 50mm f/1.8. We will have to meet up one day to do a "photoshoot."

Gorgeous pictures!

He needs to ditch those wheels and get a set worthy of being on a E36. Those wheels are becoming a dime a dozen nowadays.

The M3 badge on the rear looks a bit crooked

Pictures came out excellent, what were your settings to get that clarity?

The stills were shot in AV mode ranging from f/2.2-4.0 using a tripod. The first two rolling shots were shot in AV (on accident) and I lucked out with killer shots. The shutter speeds were 1/15 and 1/13. The other rolling shots I was using TV mode with a shutter speed of 1/60. ISO was 100 for all and I had a polarizers on both lenses.

The wing is from the rare lightweight M3, referred to as M3 LTW.

wheels aren't for this car, also that fitment isn't great for that car either. That 2nd last shot, I can see the fender being all wavey. Pictures are nice, a turbo e36 is always nice, but that stance isn't working for me

OMGawd!!! Hilarious! LMAO! But true...

...Nice DINGO!

As for the Bimmer.,I am on the same wagon as the rest. I had to look at the choice of wheel color against the red several times. It starts growing on you but a stag. set of some BBS style or WORK vs-xx wheels (or sort...) would have wrapped this BMW up nicely. As for the wing... Ehhh. It prolly looks better in person like PB said. But the shots are bad ass PB! Nicely done! Rolling shots make any flaws easy to over see. I would def like to see this one in person being that it has a LUTZ PERFORMANCE decal on it, I assume its very local

so wait.
if he had the real version of the wheels instead of the replicas, you're saying it would look better?
something tells me it would look exactly the same, he would just have a more pompous attitude about his expensive wheels

and as for this being a photoshoot or not, i would LOVE to hear the explanation of what constitutes a photoshoot. last time i checked you didnt need a license, or a shitty attitude.

thanks for sharing OP

Nice shots.

The 50mm lens makes extra crisp results.

Wow are we really going to start the wheel debate that has been beaten over and over

I still don't agree with replicas though.

Actually I believe it is not even close to the same as that. Just like I always laugh when people complain at cars shows that they don't win when they have the knockoff parts compared to the real parts another car has.

Shits ugly, just sayin.

Wheels don't go with the car what so ever.

Also let's not start a stupid debate all over again about Reps vs Real

well i laugh at people in shows in general, (meets are free and serve the same purpose without the entry fees and plastic trophies)

this guy clearly has money to dump into his car. he simply chose not to dump 4-5x more on a wheel that will serve the same purpose, and look the same.

my question was how did the brand of his wheel "ruin" the car? if not the color or styling.

Grabbing a camera and plopping your car down in front of flat wall in some shopping area parking lot does constitute a "photoshoot"

It would have been better if there was some scenery to have in the background or something besides a parking lot, with yellow lines and a wall.

Overall I enjoyed looking at these pictures. While I don't agree with the wheel choice, especially the color, the pictures are better than half of the shit people post over in the 3G TL side.

OP just wanted to post pictures of a car he took pictures of. I don't know why everyone is getting so riled up about it. My pictures of the Kennedy Space Center weren't anything impressive, yet people said "nice!" and "awesome!"

The pictures were planned and staged. While it wasn't a "proper" or "professional" shoot, I can't think of a better term to describe the shots taken.

Wow, this thread really got out of hand. Photoshoot or not, there was effort made to arrange these pics and I was on a limited time frame. As for the wheels being knock offs... They still cost a good amount, are lightweight, and come in the sizes people want without having to add 25mm spacers to achieve the right look. I don't claim to be a pro photographer, I don't watermark my photos, and I'm always learning everytime I use my camera. Next time I'll make sure to call them "pics of a friend's car."

Pls let me refrain from SHOWING you I did choose a SRT8 when I had the chance... 2006 Dodge Magnum SRT8 "Modded!" SOLD $40k... followed by a 1988 "Retired FHP" Fox Body 347 stroker all motor 11.38 with full leather int. power seats from 2004 etc etc SOLD $11K...Then, 2003 25th Anni. "TERMINATOR" Cobra #1457 MODDED! 586WHP SOLD $26k... My TL is now my days of slowing down... The ONLY "MORON" I see is the one with the CHARGER and PRIUS (lmoa..."Prius?" Doesn't Julia Roberts have one of these?...) and signs on a ACURA FORUM to post and "CLAIM" to his own photo thread or section... Silly "INTERNET Name Calling BAD BOY." ~ U mad??? lol
