Paintless/ Dentless Ding Repair

Does anyone know where you can buy those little kits that are supposed to be able to pull out minor dents in the bodywork using something like a suction cup that attaches to the body via an epoxy?

And how well do these things work anyway?

If you love your car, you will not by that crap. You will do more damage than good. Pay an expert to do it. They dont use suction cups.

exactly Hire a pro, they know what they're doing and it isn't expensive. I had three small dents when I bought my CL, guy came to work, 20 minutes he was done and it looked perfect. Cost me $80

I did some research and a good set of tools cost a couple hundred and then you NEED training.

When I had my CL...the PDR guy new me by my car and fisrt name. He charged my $75 a panel...there was 3 occasions the I found a couple of dings, and it never cost more then $100. I parked my CL outside of a restaurant on the street, and I saw an old lady use my rear pillar of my CL to stop her from falling....needless to say, It was $100..and the old lady didn't break a hip!

Car and Driver bought one to see how it would work when pulling a dent on one of their test cars. They could never get anything to stick and said if it was being used on anything but a flat surface it wouldnt come close to working.

So are the PDR guys any good? It seems like too much trouble to go to a body shop just for a few dings.

Here's an Acura dealer that uses these guys. I highly recommend Dent Wizard.

I've used Dent King in Toronto four times now and I've been impressed each time. Three were simple door dings ($60 a pop, took them 15 minutes), one was from a grocery cart and was right on a body line - I didn't think they would be able to do it but they did and it was only $75. Kind of cool watching them work too.

my PDR guy has been doing it for 10+ years, owns 2 shops, and pulled a quoted $2500 worth of dents out of my car in his garage for 400 bucks. make the drive up here to mansfield and he'll do it in his garage on a weekend!

oh yea, my car looks brand new after hail damage and countless #'s of parking lot incidents!

The PDR guys are awesome. I had a few dents that a body shop quoted me 500/dent. I went to my Acura dealer and they had the third party dent removal. Acura paid for it (another story) but I was not able to tell where the dents were after they were fixed. Two of them were in pretty tricky spots, odd angles on the metal, one very near the gas cap. It was damn good work.

I used the one that was used to carry window glass. Worked pretty good.

But it really depends on the type of dent.
