Very rusty 1968 Porsche 912 rolling parts car with title. No drivetrain, has suspension. What you see in the images on the car is what you get with this auction. A Porschephile friend of mine told me that the non-sunroof roof is valuable to SCCA and Porsche Club racers. True? I don't know...or care. There are many good parts left on this car that will have value to some Porsche lover out there. The car was going to the crusher when I saved it and diverted it to my garage. Been sitting there for over a year, and I'd like the space back. I'm an Italian-car collector, but hate to see any old European sportscar get crushed - so you German car guys be sure to do the same when you see an old Fiat, Lancia, Alfa, etc. preparing to head to the big racetrack in the sky. And I better NEVER hear you complain that Italian cars RUST - this old Porsche's got my worst Italian partscars beat for overall rust. Anyway, I have the title for the car, and the VIN plates appear to be intact - the title, and whatever plates are on the car, are included in this auction. VIN is "12803307". Despite my having the title, THIS IS A PARTS CAR ONLY. There is NO way it could be salvaged and put back on the road. It WILL need to be trailered as it's likely too weak structurally for a dolly. I MAY be able to help with transportation, but this should not be assumed, and should be discussed BEFORE you bid. ALL BIDS COUNT - DO NOT BID IF YOU DON'T INTEND TO BUY - and follow the conditions of this auction. Seriously, I don't care if this auction doesn't end for a million bucks - I just want the space back in my garage, but more importantly, I want the parts to get used by someone that needs them. Speaking of, please DON'T email to ask about buying individual parts - this auction is for ONE item, a what-you-see-is-what-you-get partscar, and NO items will be removed from it by me. Want something? Buy and pick up the whole thing - you can part it out and sell the individual parts on eBay, I don't have the time or interest. Not sure what the deal is with the big wheels in the back. The rear wheels don't match the fronts, but there are four extra wheels (three chrome ones without tires) included. Glass is in good condition, as is the stainless steel trim surrounding it. Gauges look good too. No guarantees as to the working condition of anything, and again, what you see is what you get. No reserve; the minimum bid is all it will take to buy the car, and of course, highest wins it - so be sure to bid to win. Thanks for your interest and bid. Good luck in the auction!

Sometimes it's just better to spend the money up front then to try to "save" a car. Some people will say "If it casts a shadow, it's worth restoring", but I've seen cases of people who put 15K into a car only to find they can only sell it for 7K. They should have just bought one for 7K

true, but that thing would take WAY to much effort to restore, if it's even possible. I have a feeling some of those panels will corrode w/ a simply push of your hand.
